Taking cue from the President of the United States (POTUS), Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot has started to rule his state with his peculiar style of “magic”. And what’s that? without further ado, lets’ abracadabra.
Brain fade moment or serious lapse?
Recently, Ashok Gehlot aka “Jadugar” left the state spell-bound with his great trickery. During the budget announcement, he spoke at length while reading out from the stale old budget instead of apprising the populace about the announcement from the new budget. However, the Chief Minister later apologised when his magic was caught red handed.

Afterwards, he kept apologising profusely before beginning the budget presentation again but there were no takers for his apologies.
Mr Gehlot said, “I feel sorry, what happened was by mistake”.

“During the budget presentation, Mr. Gehlot recited passages from the previous budget regarding urban employment and the Krashi budget, rather than the Budget 2023-24. Hearing the first two stale announcements from Budget 2022-23, the BJP MLAs were quick to hit back at the Chief Minister condemning his gross incompetence. They quickly descended into the floor of the legislative chamber.”

Hitting out at the Chief Minister Gehlot, Former CM Vasundra Raje lambasted him for this grave act of “callousness”. Highlighting this goof-up, she highlighted that the state will definitely suffer under the leadership of such incompetent CM.
Ms Raje said, “The Chief Minister kept reading the old budget for eight minutes. This is a historic first. I have also been the Chief Minister; I used to read the budget twice, even thrice, and checked everything before taking it in my hands. A Chief Minister who can bring such a big document into the house without checking it, and read the old budget, you can understand how secure the state is in his hands”.

Considering the track record of paper-leak in the state, BJP further alleged that the budget was technically leaked. Evidently, immediately after the “brain fade moment” state government officials rushed to get the budget copy. Notably, no one except the Chief Minister should bring the budget copy.
BJP’s Chhabra MLA alleged that in this case the budget copy went through four-five hands. BJP leaders further demanded that the Chief Minister bring a new budget.
Reports claim that it was not entirely Ashok Gehlot’s fault. He was busy handling rebellion from Sachin Pilot the entire time and couldn’t muster time to either allocate the crucial Finance Ministry to some capable lieutenant or himself prepare one. The later budget is allegedly prepared by ChatGPT.
