Shri Ambika Niketan Temple (Ambaji Mandir Surat) Surat is a famous temple of the Hindu Goddess Maa Durga. It is popularly known as Ambeji, Ambe Maa Mandir and Ambaji Mandir in Surat. Ambika is the name of Goddess Shakti or Adi Shakti. Goddess Ambika has eight arms that hold many objects and weapons. In the temple you can see a very beautiful idol of Maa Ambika. Ambika Niketan Temple is considered to be a very important religious place in Surat. This temple is situated on the banks of the Tapti River.

History of this Temple

Shree Ambaji Mandir Surat is about 50 years old and was built in the year 1969 by Late Mrs. Bharti Maiya, a devotee of Maa Ambika. You can see the idol of Shrimati Bharti Maiya on the ground floor of the temple. Ambika Niketan Temple is a two storied building type temple On the first floor, you can see the idol of Goddess Ambika and idols of other deities like Lord Shiva, Lakshmi Narayan etc.

Sri Ambaji Mandir Surat opens daily for devotees. So you can go there any day. Opening hours of this Temple 06:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the morning and 03:00 PM to 08:00 PM in the evening. Closing hours of this Temple is 12.00 noon to 3.00 pm.

Dumas Beach

About 18 km from Surat central city. This beach located at a distance of 10 kms is a very famous and attractive beach of Surat. On weekends, you will get to see a lot of tourists on this beach, many of whom come with their family and friends. The sand of this beach is black, which makes it different from other beaches.
