After Election Commission, Uddhav mounts attack on Governor

Governor Koshiyari Uddhav Thackeray

Uddhav Thackeray and Governor Koshiyari row: BalaSaheb Thackeray, the man who mainstreamed the politics of son of soil and Hindutva established his own political party, Shiv Sena. Sena along with the leader who takes charge was trusted to take the legacy of BalaSaheb. But Uddhav Thackeray failed miserably, he not only gave up Hindutva but also referred to the Hindu Hriday Samrat BalaSaheb as gullible. Now, it seems that Uddhav Thackeray has no belief in federalism, unlike his father who pronounced first Jai Hindi and then Jai Maharashtra and the latest statement on Governors stands in deposition for the same.

Uddhav Thackeray mounts attack on Governor Koshiyari

After the Election Commission’s order to designate Eknath Shinde’s faction as the original Shiv Sena, former party supremo Uddhav Thackeray moved to the apex court of India. The Uddhav bloc has urged the apex court to decide the disqualification proceedings. During the hearing, the Uddhav faction told the court that governors are actively playing a role which is disturbing the polity of the state.

The attack was mounted on Maharashtra on Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari for administering oath to Eknath Shinde as the chief minister of the state. Kapil Sibal, representing the Uddhav bloc, told the court that ‘Governor Koshiyari had sworn in Shinde without even asking him which party he and other legislators supporting him belonged to.’

Governor Koshiyari calls Uddhav Thackeray ‘saintly person’

Uddhav Thackeray and the ones supporting him have issues with the governor due to Eknath Shinde breaking away from the party along with a majority of the legislators.

Governor Koshiyari responding to the recent developments said that Uddhav Thackeray was a “saintly person” who was not cut out for the chief minister post. Instead, as per Koshiyaru said that Thackeray should have continued to run his own party.

Desperate Thackeray seeks validation from the court of law

The battle to save the legacy of BalaSaheb Thackeray was a long drawn one. Eknath Shinde faction broke out from Shiv Sena claiming that they need to protect the legacy and politics of BalaSaheb. Uddhav Thackeray being ousted from his own father’s party, was desperate to seek validation. The election commission then closed all the doors to gain back control over the party. This has left Thackeray with no option but to approach the supreme court; however, in the process he must not have forgotten that the post of governor is a constitutional one, above from  all parties. Probably, a little polity lesson would do for Uddhav Thackeray.
