Kuber Bhandari Temple is situated in Karnali village near the famous town of Chanod. Chanod is located near Dabhoi in Vadodara district of Gujarat state in India. It is about 36 miles away from Vadodara city.

Kuber Bhandari Temple is one of the most famous pilgrimage places here on the banks of river Narmada. Devotees from all over the country and abroad come to visit here on Dhanteras and Diwali. It is said that this temple was built about 25 hundred years ago. Regarding the construction of this temple located on the banks of river Narmada, it is said that this Dhanvantari temple was built by Lord Shiva.

History of this Temple

It is believed that Lord Shiva along with Goddess Parvati was going through this route and see the forests surrounding the area and notice the absence of any food and water in the area, he made a wise decision to stay there always in the form of food and water. Passing by pilgrims in this inaccessible area. Since then, he is revered in Kuber Bhandari Temple as Lord Kubera – the source of never-ending food, water, wealth.

Kuber Bhandari Temple is situated at a height of about 40 feet from the banks of the river Narmada, which flows alongside the site of the temple, adding to the natural splendor of the entire place. To reach the height of the temple, the devotees have to climb 38 steps in all, which is made easier by their immense devotion towards Lord Kuber. Lord Kuber has always been worshiped as the god of fame and wealth and this particular temple is said to be around 90 years old.

Laxmi Vilas Palace

A majestic structure that served as the private residence of Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III, the palace is said to be four times the size of Britain’s Buckingham Palace. Lush gardens, a 10-hole golf course, a zoo and a small pond. The palace has quite a few sights to offer. Dating back to 1890, it displays the Indo-Saracenic architectural style and houses the Moti Bagh Palace and the Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum.

Champaner- Pavagadh Archaeological Park

Considered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this incredible archaeological park is one of the most frequently visited places in Gujarat. Filled with exquisite architectural specimens, it is a fusion of Hindu and Islamic styles of design. An interesting point about the Pavagadh hill is that it is said to have been taken to Lanka by Hanuman according to the Ramayana.

Sun Temple

According to popular folk belief, a visit to this revered shrine is said to bestow divine blessings on visitors and alleviate all their ailments. Legend has it that this temple was built at the behest of the Sun God himself. This is the reason why it is one of the top 10 places to visit in Vadodara.

Sursagar Lake

Surrounded by forest, this lake epitomizes a place with exemplary architecture, complemented by mesmerizing beauty. It houses an impressive 120 feet idol of Lord Shiva. It is also known as Chandan lake. Local people and tourists can be seen boating in this lake. It is said to be from the 18th century.

By Rail: There are many stations connected to this temple. The nearest railway station is Vadodara. From here you can easily reach this temple by using local services.

By Bus: There are many taxis and buses which runs from different parts of the city to reach Kuber Bhandari Temple. Local transport is also available to reach Karnali. Boats are also available from Chandod to reach Karnali.
