Is Akshay Kumar oblivious to reality or is he unable to accept it?

Akshay Kumar Flop movies: What according to you is more important the outcome or the intent with which the work is done? Yes, you are right, intentions matter a lot. With good intentions, sooner or later the positive outcomes will start pouring in for you. But it seems that Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar thinks otherwise.

Khiladi Kumar ruining the game for fans/audiences

It seems that Akshay Kumar lives in a different world altogether. At a time when other Bollywood actors are scared on account of their dismal performances, Akshay Kumar is hitting the theatres at a regular interval. Without paying any heed to the feedback of the audiences, he is releasing his movies with an indifferent attitude. He seems to be in some sought of a hurry to perform even worse than his previous act.

Evidently, his previous five outings at the Box office were a terrible disaster. But that has not deterred him at all. It is reported that he is determined to outclass his awful performance in the next year both in terms of quality as well as quantity. Reportedly, he will appear in six movies in the next year.

The movies lined up for next year are as follows. In Selfiee, Akshay Kumar will be co-starring with Emraan Hashmi. Then, he will hit the theatre with the sequel of his controversial film Oh My God!. In OMG 2, he will act alongside Yami Gautam and Arun Govil.

In the Marathi film Vedat Marathe Veer Daudale Saat, Akshay will essay the role of Veer Maratha Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. It will be his debut film in the Marathi industry.

Later, he will appear in the remake of the critically acclaimed Tamil film Soorarai Pottru. In Capsule Gill, Akshay Kumar will appear alongside Parineeti Chopra on the big screen. Lastly, he will end the year with Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.

Without adaptability, Strengths turns into weakness

Releasing 4-6 movies in a calendar year has been Akshay Kumar’s USP for quite some time now. But what he seems to have forgotten is that the audience’s taste has evolved drastically over the years especially after the advent of OTT platforms. This shift in audiences attitude was further catalysed by the Covid pandemic induced lockdown. It opened the floodgates for content driven cinema. Cinema lovers got accustomed to foreign as well as regional content breaking the much-touted language barrier.

This clearly implies that Akshay Kumar’s entire focus has been on mass producing movies rather than doing Justice and giving due respect to his act or the cinema altogether. With six movies in a year, there is hardly any time to do the indepth research needed to truly imbibe the character.

After eliminating the time needed for the on-ground production and shot, a movie releases every two months leaves no room for character research and to really live and feel the ethos of the script.

After 2014, he rode the changing tide and swam along with it. His repeated choices of films having either patriotism or social message as the central theme initially clicked among the masses. But, the awful and a template Akshay Kumar performance in his last outings have forced the audiences to start questioning the intentions of the team especially Akshay Kumar.
