Bharat’s economic rise and military might have started to be reflected in its global stature. With about 18% of the world population and a GDP value of US $3.5 trillion, India is now a superpower in the world. A leading contributor to world peace, functional democracy, and responsible nuclear power, Bharat’s credentials are valued now. Moreover, the Nation’s stable economy, multicultural peaceful society, democratic political structure, and centuries-old civilization make it a respected and formidable power. The leader who rules the country through democratic means also carries the voice of 1.3 billion people, which has the capacity to decide the fate of the world.

Considering all these qualities of the nation, PM Modi’s statement had significant value in the Ukraine war. That’s why the world’s eyes were concentrated on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.

Prime Minister Modi’s no holds barred talks with Putin

On the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in the Uzbekistan city of Samarkand, PM Modi’s talks with Russian President Valdmir Putin are attracting global praise.

While talking to the Russian President, Prime Minister Modi stated that today’s era is not of war. Conflict can be solved through democracy, diplomacy and dialogue. Appraising Putin about the cost of war, PM Modi further said, “..today the biggest concerns facing the world and especially the developing countries are the problems of food security, fuel security and fertilizers.”

While responding to PM Modi, Putin said that he understood Delhi’s concerns about the conflict in Ukraine and wanted it to end as soon as possible. Putin further said, “We will do our best to stop this as soon as possible. However, unfortunately, the opposing side, the leadership of Ukraine, announced its refusal to continue negotiations and declared that they wanted to achieve their goals by military means, as they say on the battlefield. But nevertheless, we will always keep you informed of what is happening there.”
