Congress is not able to host a fixed match, and they claim to win 2024

Congress president election

Congress president election: On December 28, 2021, a retired British Indian Civil Service (ICS) officer Allan Octavian Hume founded the Indian National Congress. It was done with the objective to puncture the ongoing Indian Freedom Struggle against English rule. A.O. Hume cleverly cherry-picked some of the “moderate” English-educated Indians, and the elite club had no plans of overthrowing the foreign regime.

With passing time, the INC then underwent several changes and several factions separated from it. In India’s struggle for Independence, Congress presented itself as the champion of the cause. In the independent India, that saw leaders as giant as Sardar Patel who unified the entire India, started revolving around the Nehru Gandhi Family. And it seems that the Congress party will mark its extinction, revolving around the Gandhis.

Tharoor, Kharge, Tiwari file nomination for the top post

Congress had planned to organise an election to elect, apt to say, select its next Congress party president. However, it appears to be playing musical chairs, in which the players are strictly, the remaining loyalists of the Gandhi family.

Shashi Tharoor has filed his nomination, today, at the party headquarters on Akbar Road. While he spoke about the need to decentralise the Congress organisation, he still maintained that Gandhi family remains the foundational pillar of Congress as well as the “ultimate guiding spirit”.

Other than Tharoor, Mallikarjun Kharge and KN Tripathi too have filed their nominations.

Mallikarjun Kharge has been called to save the chair for Gandhis

As the old Gandhi loyalist Ashok Gehlot pulled out, Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge was called upon to file his nominations. As per reports, Congress veteran Venugopal had conveyed to Mallikarjun Kharge that Congress high command, that is the Gandhis, wanted him to contest.

Kharge was flanked by a galaxy of leaders while filing his papers, and appears to be a clear favourite over both his rivals, Tharoor and Tripathi. Hence, Kharge’s election as congress president is almost certain and Kharge can be referred to as the official Gandhis backed guy.

Gehlot, Digvijay pull out from the Congress president election

The first name that propped up was that of Ashok Gehlot. It was reported that Sonia Gandhi had asked him to take over the reins of Congress before leaving for her trip abroad last month. However, the tussle back home and Ashok Gehlot’s greed for the CM chair has made him pull out of the race.

Earlier in the day, Congress stalwart and a Madam loyalist, Digvijay Singh also dropped out of the race after filing nominations. Singh said, “I met Mallikarjun Kharge this morning. Once he confirmed filing nomination, I decided to not proceed with mine. Had I known earlier, I wouldn’t have collected nomination papers.” It seems that Digvijay Singh was just acting as the dummy candidate till the Gandhis decided on their choice.

Gandhis show old habits never die

Rahul Gandhi has been roaring in public that Congress must be run by a non-Gandhi president. In media interviews, jansabhas, party meetings after the drubbing Congress received in elections, he had asserted that Congress should be led by a no non-Gandhi. Currently, he is on a rally, Bharat Jodo Yatra, whose nexus has already been exposed by us at TFI.

Gandhis once again have chosen their Manmohan Singh. And the way of running party via remote control will definitely mark an early end of the already diminishing Congress.
