5 soldiers of Nitish Kumar defect to Team BJP

Manipur MLAs

Colin Powell once said “Leadership is solving problems. The day soldiers stop bringing you their problems is the day you have stopped leading them. They have either lost confidence that you can help or concluded you do not care. Either case is a failure of leadership.” And the very quote depicts the pathetic situation of Nitish Kumar in Indian politics today. In the current scenario, Nitish’s existence has become limited to that of a mere pencil pusher, or in other words a glorified clerk. Keeping aside the tanking public support now even the leaders from his own party have started to ditch him. Believe it or not, Nitish Kumar has lost it all, but ironically, his dreams are shooting high in the days of his descendance.

A big blow to JDU in Manipur, 5 MLAs join BJP

On the 9th of August, Nitish Kumar, the man with variables in Indian politics, announced to snap ties with the BJP. He joined hands with RJD and the other struggling parties of Bihar to form a weak, directionless, and soulless government without an ideology. Now it seems Karma has come back to bite him.

Evidently, five of the six JD(U) MLAs in Manipur joined the ruling party BJP on Friday, just a day before the Nitish’s party’s national executive meet in Patna on Saturday, 3rd of September. It has come as a major jolt to the JD(U) and to Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar who has been dreaming of a prime ministerial post in the upcoming 2024 election. With defection of these five MLAs, now JD(U) has only one legislator in the entire Northeast region.

In this tough time, leaders from other party lines are seen taking jibes on Nitish Kumar.

Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Sushil Modi said that they will make ‘JDU-mukt’ Bihar soon.

He said, “Five JDU MLAs joined the BJP in Manipur, the state has become JDU-free. Those MLAs wanted to remain in NDA. Very soon, we will break the JDU-RJD alliance in Bihar and make the state JDU free”.

BJP leader Amit Malviya said Nitish Kumar is seeing his party’s footprint shrinking in Bihar and outside, but he dreams of becoming the prime minister.

Nitish Kumar calls for unity of opposition in 2024 polls

A day after five out of six JD(U) legislators ditched the party and joined the BJP in Manipur, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar gave a clarion call for the unity of the opposition parties to take on the saffron party, BJP, in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Bihar CM Nitish Kumar said, “When we parted ways from NDA, all our six Manipur MLAs came and met us and assured us they were with JDU. We need to think about what’s going on. They’re breaking away the MLAs from the parties, is it constitutional?… Opposition will unify for 2024 elections”.

But the question is why Nitish Kumar is mentioning the Indian Constitution now when his own party members are hitting back at him the way he backstabbed BJP in Bihar?

Mr Nitish Kumar aka Palturam courtesy of his gazillion U-turns should realise that he is becoming a roadblock in the development of the state as well as a liability for the party. He is not an influential leader who can rally voters around himself in all parts of Bihar lest outside the state or across the whole nation. This new jolt by his former legislators is a mirror to the over-ambitious Nitish Kumar. He should wake up and smell the coffee, he has been reduced to being a glorified clerk. He should drop ‘Mungerilal ke haseen sapne’ of becoming the PM by hook or crook. He is not the lone politician masquerading as a secular fox, rather, he is just one of the many in the jungle of secular jamaat of politicians all of whom are wanna-be PMs. However, if he really wants to serve the nation, he should start acting tough against his tainted cabinet colleagues and not make kidnapping accused as Law Ministers soon after the change of guard.
