The Marxist ‘distorians’ parroted a perverse version of Indian history and culture. They adulterated historical events and ideas to further their political and personal agendas. Through this, they muddied the legacy of every great Indian philosopher, ideologue and revolutionary.

The needless controversy around the legacy of visionary leader Veer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar is a prime example of this perversion. He was insanely vilified by the left liberal cabal for calling a spade as a spade. Now, it seems that the saffron party, BJP, has decided to take this adulteration and vilification head on.

Yediyurappa starting a Savarkar tsunami

On 23rd of August, Former Karnataka CM B.S. Yediyurappa launched the Savarkar Rath Yatra. He flagged the yatra from Kote Anjaneya Temple in the premises of the Mysuru Palace. This eight-day-long rath yatra is being organised by the Savarkar Foundation. This will propagate his contributions and sacrifices during the freedom struggle.

Savarkar Rath Yatra is a clarion call to spread Savarkar’s message among the citizens. This will counter all the falsehoods and “negative propaganda” parroted by the left liberal cabal to demean V.D Savarkar. It will pass through three districts namely Mysuru, Chamarajanagar, and Mandya districts.

The senior BJP leader Yediyurappa recalled several eminent personalities who eulogised Veer Savarkar. He highlighted that former Prime Ministers Indira Gandhi and Atal Bihari Vajpayee hailed Savarkar for his contribution to liberate India from British Imperialism.

Former CM Yediyurappa claimed that around five decades ago, Atal Bihari Vajpayee had emphasised the need for taking Savarkar’s message to each and every household in the country.

Senior BJP leader Yediyurappa reiterated that Indira Gandhi referred to Savarkar as a “remarkable son of India”.

Further, Yediyurappa added that other prominent personalities like former Presidents S. Radhakrishnan, Zakir Hussain, and renowned socialist Ram Manohar Lohia had also praised Savarkar. He said, “When Savarkar died in Mumbai, Congress and Communist leaders attended his funeral”.

He strongly criticised the opposition’s hateful campaign to defame Veer Savarkar. He stressed that it was a crime to defame such a personality for petty political gains.

The backdrop and significance of this move

Recently, BJP stalwart leader Yediyurappa was appointed a member of the BJP’s Parliamentary Board. This was his first visit to Mysuru after his elevation to the highest decision making bodies of BJP.

He wasted no time in celebration and started this aggressive campaign, Savarkar rath yatra, to defeat the opposition in their turf. As earlier, the opposition led by Congress leaders started a political fight.

Along with Congress leaders, former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah questioned Savarkar’s contribution to the freedom struggle.

This led to an ugly political fight in Karnataka over the legacy of Savarkar. The Congress and JDS tried to pit a bigoted Islamic tyrant Tipu Sultan against Hindutva proponent Veer Savarkar.

Evidently, on the occasion of Independence Day, activists from Bajrang Dal led by BJP leader Deen Dayal wanted to erect a poster of Veer Savarkar. Muslim youth gathered to protest against Savarkar’s poster. They insisted on erecting a banner of Islamic bigot Tipu Sultan. This escalated quickly and became a serious law and order situation.

Soon, Congress and its allies added fuel to the fire and launched irrational attacks against the great son of the soil, Savarkar. They stooped to new lows to woo their vote bank.

It raises one very pertinent question. If the Congress really considers Tipu Sultan, an Islamic tyrant, as a great icon for the nation, why does it not launch a rally of their own in Tipu’s commemoration?

It seems that the pitch of Karnataka election is fully prepared. It is heading towards a political battle between followers of Veer Savarkar and admirer of Islamist Tipu Sultan. Prior to this, Karnataka witnessed a communal demand ‘Pehle hijab fir kitab’ and other polarising issues like the ‘halal controversy’ and the ‘implementation of court orders on loud-speakers.’

However, the INC-JDS alliance has not taken one thing into consideration, that is, the people’s mandate. People have outrightly rejected appeasement politics and have woken from their deep slumber. All the lies in the name of secular history have been busted and people have realised the true face of Tipu.

So, if things in the Karnataka election persist like this, then the Congress will suffer a humiliating defeat in the assembly election.
