Four Ambassadors Dead in China – Did China “fry” their brains off?

Ease of Doing Business Report, the prominent publication of the World Bank, which used to decide the business-friendly environment in a country based on various parameters, was discontinued in 2021. Reports suggest that China used various unethical means to manipulate data to improve its rankings and benefited in investment terms.

There are multiple such instances when China has used its powers to manipulate regional, international and multilateral platforms to advance its policy in the world. In these data rigging or policy manipulation, China was supposedly using various corrupt instruments like bribing, hacking, or relationship favouring. But, it seems that China has now resorted to manipulating the minds of diplomats or rigging their brains in order to set terms in its favour.

Myanmar’s ambassador to China dead

Reports suggest that Myanmar’s ambassador to China, U Myo Thant Pe, died in suspicious circumstances on Sunday in the south-western Chinese city of Kunming. Although Myanmar’s foreign ministry did not specify the cause of the death, but diplomats in China and other media reports suggest that the cause of death was likely to be a heart attack.

U Myo Thant Pe was last seen meeting a Chinese official a day before his death. U Myo Thant Pe was appointed to China in 2019 and stayed there after the military coup in February 2021.

In One Year Four Ambassadors Dead in China

It is pertinent to understand that in the last year, it is the fourth ambassador’s death in China. The other three diplomats who died in China are German ambassador Jan Hecker, Ukraine ambassador Serhii Kamyshev, and Philippines ambassador Jose Santiago “Chit” Sta. Romana.

Earlier on 14th of February 2021, Serhii Kamyshev, Ukrainian Ambassador to China was found dead. After his death, in September 2021, another diplomat was found dead in China. German ambassador Jan Hecker was found dead a few days after taking charge. Although the then German foreign minister Heiko Maas had ruled out any conspiracy for his death related to his official function, but doubt about his suspicious death has arisen.

Later this year in April 2022, the Philippines ambassador to China, Jose Santiago “Chito” Sta. Romana died while in quarantine. Mr. Romana was a long-term resident of China as before his appointment in 2016, he was a news correspondent for ABC News. He was reported to be among the small group of Filipinos who visited China during the dictator’s rule in the Philippines. The government of the Philippines had given no word on the cause of his death, similar to other diplomats’ deaths.

Microwave energy is being used to manipulate the mind?

The suspicious death of diplomats in China is raising serious questions about how people can die without any reason. There are instances in the past, where intelligence units of respective countries have used various means to kill people in order to advance their agenda. But, the successive death of diplomats in China is not a new phenomenon.

Earlier in December 2020, the Times of Israel published a report titled ‘Microwave energy likely made US diplomats sick in Cuba, China. The report asserted citing an American State Department-commissioned study that ‘directed, pulsed radio-frequency energy’ was found to be the most plausible cause of mysterious illness among American personnel in 2016-18.

The American National Academy of Sciences committee stated in its report that “directed” microwave radiation caused intense head pressure, dizziness, and cognitive difficulties to American personnel.

Between 2016 and 2018, several American and Canadian diplomats posted in the Cuban capital Havana and the US consulate in Guangzhou (China) complained of various health problems from an unknown cause. Famously known as ‘Havana Syndrome’, the suspicious disease is reported to have affect about 26 American personnel.

Although the study did not name the source of energy or attack, but the report noted that “this type of injury was done in the former Soviet Union.” A similar incident was reported in September 2021, when US Vice-President Kamla Harris’s trip to Hanoi in Vietnam was delayed due to ‘Havana Syndrome”.

The United Social Soviet Republic (USSR) and the US in Cold War times have used such technology to harm leaders, diplomats, and officials to advance their agenda. China also seems to be using the same type of microwave energy which has resulted in the death of four diplomats in less than one year.
