Worldwide box office receipts for the movie starring Vidya Balan, Saif Ali Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Raima Sen, and Dia Mirza exceeded 62.35 crore INR.

The comedy-drama Khosla Ka Ghosla, directed by Dibakar Banerjee, starred Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Vinay Phatak, Ranvir Shorey, and Parvin Dabas. The movie, which was later adapted in Tamil as Poi Solla Porom, won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film (Hindi) in 2006.

Shikar and Kranti, his other two films of the year, were both merely mediocre box office successes.
