Smriti Irani’s fierce response to Congress’s allegations about her daughter

There is an unsaid rule in the ecosystem of politics; never touch the family. However, expecting a morally corrupt Congress to follow the aforementioned rule, is way too naive, and the same has been proven in the recent controversy around the daughter of union minister Smriti Irani.

Congress stoops another low, targets Irani’s daughter

The posh restaurant situated in Goa’s Assagao, Sully Souls, has landed in controversy after it was found that the owner had renewed the liquor license using the name of a deceased person. Narayan M Gad, the excise commissioner of Goa, had earlier on July 21 issued a show-cause notice to the restaurant after receiving a complaint that accused the owner of submitting “fraudulent and fabricated documents” to get the license. The matter is due before the court and is slated to be heard on July 29. Congress has claimed that the “illegal bar” is being run by Smriti Irani’s daughter Zoish Irani.

Congress demands Smriti’s resignation

On Sunday, the workers of Youth Congress were found protesting outside the Sully Souls Goa restaurant, which as per Congress is owned by Smriti Irani’s daughter. In the protest, Goa Youth Congress president Varad Mardolkar and spokesperson Amarnath Panjikar were the main faces, who demanded the establishment be shut down.

The Congress party had earlier accused Irani’s daughter of running an “illegal bar” in Goa and had come to all guns blazing at the BJP minister demanding her sacking. The Congress demanded from the Prime Minister that Smriti Irani should be immediately sacked as a minister from the Union Cabinet. Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera during his press conference said, “You owe to this country, to the youth of this country” while demanding Irani’s sacking along with Jairam Ramesh.

Smriti Irani braves the storm

While denying all the allegations, BJP minister Smriti Irani braved a political storm. Defending her daughter she said that she will see Congress in court. The remark was based on the attacks launched at Irani’s daughter by the Congress members. Irani responded by saying, “My daughter is a student and she doesn’t run any bar in Goa,” and added that all the allegations made by the Congress18-year-old are baseless.

Irani said that the fault of her girl is that, “her mother did a press conference on the loot of Rs 5000 crore by Rahul and Sonia Gandhi.” Adding that she will seek answers in court of law and court if people.”
