Two and a half years since the release of a film that took the entertainment world by storm. Why you may ask? Well, it courageously displayed the Hindu glory and their bravery to fight against Mughal invaders. By now, you must have guessed which film I am talking about. It was once in a decade film. It was a film that beautifully defined nationalism. It was Ajay Devgn starrer Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior.

In what came as a satisfactory decision by the IB Ministry on Friday, Ajay Devgn bagged the National Award for Best Actor at the 68th National Film Awards for 2020. He has been awarded for his titular role in ‘Tanhaji: the Unsung Warrior’.
Devgn expressed gratitude saying that I am elated. He also thanked everyone including his creative team, the audience, and fans. Devgn, for the humble man he is, also congratulated other winners.
What added fuel to the fire is that Tanhaji also won the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment and Best Costume Design awards. Since Devgn was also the co-producer of the film, he expressed joy by saying that Tanhaji was a good story of friendship, loyalty, family values and sacrifice with strong national sentiments and super VFX.
It is pertinent to note that this is the third national award won by Ajay Devgn. Earlier, he had bagged the award for his 1998 film Zakhm and 2002’s The Legend of Bhagat Singh.
For those unversed, the winners of the 68th National Film Awards were announced yesterday in New Delhi. Along with Ajay Devgn, Suriya too won the award for his work in Soorarai Pottru.
Liberals turned Ostrich
How would you react if the person whose legs you’ve been trying to pull for a long time, wins the race and you are left with nothing but shame on yourself? Well, you’ll turn into an ostrich. Why Ostrich? Well, the ostrich sticks its head in the sand to avoid a certain situation. This is exactly what is happening with the liberal cabal. I am afraid that they do not die of shame as they criticised Tanhaji for the heck of it during its release.
Amongst all those who were aghast at the unapologetic glorification of the Sanatan Dharma in the movie, The Quint was rattled the most and posted not one or two but four articles deriding the movie. While an article published by the left portal asked ‘Is Tanhaji Also a Naagin?’, the other one was titled, ‘How Bollywood is reselling Hindutva as history’.

Ever since its release, it caused some major heartburn among the left liberals as the Maratha glory is in full display in the film. The flag bearer of left propaganda had published an article titled “’Tanhaji’ Review: Propaganda Weighs Down an Already Mediocre Film”. It shamelessly defined the movie in two points “bhaavnaon me behna” and “bhagvaon me behna”. You see, for some portals, nationalism is bhaavnaon me behna.
From NDTV to The New Indian Express, every self-declared ‘secular’ portal came together to discredit the movie. Despite their multiple efforts to demean nationalism and label the film as Hindutva propaganda, Tanhaji is here winning national awards for best actor and best popular film.
Directed by Om Raut, Tanhaji was based on the story of Tanaji Malusare, the 17th-century Maratha warrior and general of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The story was about how the warrior defeated the forces of Mughal commander Udaybhan Rathod to conquer the erstwhile Kondana.
The efforts of the nationalist actor Ajay Devgn, director Om Raut, and the creative team have now come to fruition with the film bagging multiple awards. Let liberals cry in a corner as they have been slapped on their faces. We, however, sympathise with them.
