From Lalu to Tejaswi, Hinduphobia has always been in RJD’s DNA

RSS PFI

Lalu Yadav truly ‘ruled’ Bihar like no other leader could have ever done. Lalu Yadav with RJD at the helm of affairs has only filled the Yadav clan’s coffers with inundated wealth and allowed the fault lines of castes to grow wider. With the anti-Hindu remarks of one of the prominent leaders of Lalu Yadav’s Rashtriya Janata Dal, the party has unveiled its ‘politics’ once again.

RJD compares RSS with PFI

RJD has again found itself in controversy due to the objectionable statement of state president Jagadanand Singh, who compared the Popular Front of India with RSS. Singh has come out in support of PFI, stating that it should not be termed as an anti-national organisation. Singh went on to claim that PFI has been formed to counter RSS and protect Muslims.

Objecting to calling the members of PFI, rioters and anti-nationals, Singh said that Pakistani agents who were arrested by security agencies were either RSS members or Hindus. Singh was quoted saying, “Whenever a Pakistani agent who poses a threat to our country is arrested, it has come to light that they are either from RSS or are Hindus.” Singh’s remarks have come in connection with the recent arrests made earlier this month, where the police has claimed to have busted a terror module.

RJD and its leaders seem to be unaware of the recent developments and history. Popular Front of India is an offshoot of SIMI, the mastermind of 2006 Mumbai and 2008 Ahmedabad blasts, and has been found involved in many unrests in the nation, ranging from anti-CAA protests, to Hijab protests, to Karauli violence. And there have been widespread demands to ban PFI in the country before it becomes SIMI 2.0.

BJP retaliated furiously to the objectionable comments

The BJP in Bihar has launched a ruthless attack on the RJD leader and has demanded action against him under the law for supporting anti-nationals. While there has been condemnation of such statements from all spectrums of politics, the ‘ally’ of RJD, the Congress has also deserted it. The Congress has blamed it on RJD claiming that the RJD is following the BJP module of politics. The Congress claimed, as BJP invokes “fear of Muslims among Hindus”, the RJD is invoking “fear of RSS among Muslims.”

This clearly shows the shaking ground. The alliance of Congress-RJD has seen a rift in recent times, as RJD has decimated the Congress by weakening its position in the state, and has itself captured the place of main opposition.

RJD invokes its decade old Hinduphobia

The Congress may have criticised RJD and the respective leader for the alleged comments, but the Congress stands no moral ground to question RJD. As it is the one, who introduced the concept of Hinduphobia and went on to popularise the propoganda of Hindu extremism, that it often accuses the BJP of practising.

To add on to that, anti-Hindu remarks and action is not new for Lalu Yadav’s Rashtriya Janata Dal as well. The party patriarch is responsible for halting the Rath Yatra launched for the cause of Ram Mandir. Till the day, RJD was in power, all the party did was widening the faulty caste lines and gaining political benefits from the same, and appeasement of the minority community. Lalu Yadav was the one who coined the M+Y combination in Bihar and has assigned his heir to take that forward. While failing at gaining electoral number, it seems that the statement comparing PFI with RSS has come in the same desperation.
