In Thiruvalla, Ashwathy Kurup, the second of Ramachandra Kurup and Padma Bai’s three children, was born. Her mother is from Kaviyoor, Thiruvalla, while her father is from Champakulam, Alappuzha. She has a younger sister named Deepthi and an older sister named Jyothi (deceased).
Devaswom Board Higher Secondary School in Thiruvalla is where she received her elementary schooling.
At the same school where she went to school, her mother taught arithmetic. She attended NSS Hindu College in Changanassery to pursue a Pre-degree.

Relationship and Married Life
On September 7, 1992, at the Town Hall in Ernakulam, Parvathy wed actor Jayaram, who has been her co-star in numerous movies. Parvathy effectively stopped performing in movies after getting married. She now resides in Chennai with her family. Malavika Jayaram and Kalidas Jayaram are her two children.
On the set of Aparan at Udaya Studio in Alappuzha in 1988, Parvathy first got to know her future husband Jayaram. Parvathy ceased acting after being married on September 7, 1992, and later claimed she has no regrets. “Without making a job sacrifice, one partner won’t be able to adequately raise the kids. Why should the wife work if the husband earns a high salary?”
The couple has two kids: Malavika and Kalidas Jayaram. The National Film Award for Best Child Artist went to Kalidas Jayaram for his performance in the 2003 movie Ente Veedu Appuvinteyum, which he co-starred in with his father, Jayaram. She currently lives with her family in Valasaravakkam, Tamil Nadu.
