In an industry running on the ‘mercy’ of nepotism, one needs a ‘godfather’ like Karan Johar to survive. Dare you attempt to step into the industry without any entertainment background and your parents doing any regular job with no connection to Bollywood, you’ll be thrown out of the corridor and will be meted with the worst possible treatment.
However, the likes of Sushant Singh Rajput entered and took the entertainment world by storm. Those dreaming of entering Bollywood but had no godfather in the industry also began making their mark in the industry. One such actor is Kartik Aaryan whose recent released ‘BhoolBhulaiyaa 2’ has already been declared a superhit by the critics. Moreover, the recent reports are suggesting that Kartik Aaryan does not need a ‘godfather’ like Karan Johar.
Kartik Aaryan denies dancing to Karan Johar’s tunes
The rift between Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar is nothing new. The reports of their clash have been emerging ever since Kartik was denied to be a part of ‘Dostana 2’. Their professional fallout has led them to have bad blood. However, being a part of the same industry, you cannot ignore each other. This is what happened with the self-made superstar and flag-bearer of nepotism. During an event, they bumped into each other and Aaryan ignored him.
During the event, there was a moment when both Johar and Aaryan shared the stage. A viral clip from the event displays the actors of Jug Jugg Jeeyo, Varun Dhawan, Maniesh Paul, and Anil Kapoor dancing on Naach Punjaaban. Kartik Aaryan too, was persuaded by Varun Dhawan to do the hook step. Suddenly, Karan also joined the group to dance on the Naach Punjaaban. However, Kartik didn’t even dance with them.
Kartik Aaryan is currently enjoying the superstar status in Bollywood. He has been receiving love from moviegoers. Mind you, the success wasn’t easy for him as he was accused of being unprofessional by Karan Johar who had alleged that the former’s unprofessional behaviour had led him to be ousted of Dostana 2.
Kartik Aaryan – the outsider who made his mark in Bollywood
Kartik Aaryan is an ‘outsider’ in Mumbai’s film industry, which makes him all the more target of the nepotists like Karan Johar, who have made a career out of launching star kids alone. Several reports have claimed that Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions has not only fired actor Kartik Aaryan from the ongoing movie project but also decided to not work with him again in the future.
Dostana 2 is being directed by Collin D’Cunha, and it has Janhvi Kapoor and debutant Lakshya Lalwani in leading roles, along with Kartik Aaryan. However, after Kartik shot the movie for 20 days and was preparing for the next part of the shoot, some creative differences between the actor Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar arose which led to the former’s ouster as Johar did not like his authority being undermined.

Immediately after the news broke out #BoycottBollywood started trending on the micro-blogging platform Twitter and netizens directed their ire towards Johar. The netizens have been calling Johar for the treatment meted to Kartik as the Dharma Production head would not have dared eject any other actor if he/she had a godfather in the industry.
However, the career growth of Kartik Aaryan in the entertainment industry is proof that it takes talent and not godfather to survive in Bollywood. Moreover, the way Kartik Aaryan maintained his self-respect and dignity during the whole event by not bowing down to Karan Johar makes it quite evident that the former doesn’t need a ‘godfather’ in the industry.
