Ever since Nupur Sharma made a controversial facts-based remark, the entire left-liberal cabal and Islamists began hurling death and rape threats upon her. Moreover, the Islamists are coming down heavily on her claiming that she had hurt the religious sentiments. However, BJP’s star spokesperson is receiving support from people all across the globe. Yet, there are few Indians who despite encashing privilege only because of India, are spewing venom against the nation. One of them is alleged actor Naseeruddin Shah.
Naseeruddin’s ‘concern’
Alleged actor Naseeruddin Shah is probably ‘concerned’ about India and this is what made him take a break from his work only to give his ‘valuable advice’ to Prime Minister Narendra Modi that he should step in and “stop the poison”.
“I would appeal to the PM to knock some good sense into these people. If what he believes is what was said at the (Haridwar) Dharma Sansad, he should say so and if not, he should say so,” Naseeruddin Shah, during an interview with NDTV, said.
“I wish that the hatemongers that the PM follows on Twitter…He has to do something. He needs to step in to prevent the poison from growing.”
The 71-year-old Naseeruddin, referring to Nupur Sharma’s comment on Hindu gods being insulted, said he couldn’t recall any instance when a Muslim made such an inflammatory statement on a Hindu deity.
“It was an insincere apology, hardly meant to assuage hurt feelings. You talk of peace and unity and you are sent to jail for a year. You talk of genocide, you get a slap on the wrist. There are double standards working here,” he said, referencing George Orwell’s 1984.
Naseeruddin Shah, unfortunately, had no time to scroll social media and go through the statements where Islamists and liberals have compared Shivling with a human genital. Or maybe, he saw those comments but his hypocrisy didn’t let him talk about that.
When asked questions About Nupur Sharma facing death threats, Shah with a ‘big heart’ said it should be condemned.
“To even think that way is wrong. That is why Pakistan and Afghanistan are in the situation they are in. We don’t want to emulate these countries, but we are somehow doing so. People are killed on the suspicion of slaughtering cows. These things happened in barbaric Islamic countries – not India.”
A kind-hearted soul Naseeruddin couldn’t even condemn the death threats without doing propaganda by talking about cow slaughtering.
Naseeruddin is disappointed with Khans
Naseeruddin did not stop here. When asked whether he felt the Khans of Bollywood should have raised their voices on the current controversy, Mr. Shah said: “I am not in the position they are in. But I think they are in a position where they have too much to lose. I feel they think they would be risking too much.”
He further added, “What happened to Shah Rukh Khan and the dignity with which he faced it was admirable. It was nothing but a witch-hunt. All he did was support Trinamool and applaud Mamata Banerjee. Sonu Sood gets raided. Anyone who makes any statement gets a response. Maybe I am next. I don’t know. (laughs) Though they won’t find anything.”
It seems that both the NDTV and are disappointed with Khans that unlike the likes of Farhan Akhtar, Khans are not commenting on the Nupur Sharma and other controversies. What Naseer doesn’t understand is that they have a home to run, they have kids and families to feed, and an already declining audience to cater.
The Khans and Kapoors cannot afford to disappoint their fans as they are the source of superstars’ bread and butter. Naseeruddin, however, needs to understand this and let them strictly stick to their work rather than falling for any propaganda.
