Chinese Defense Minister just confirmed what we knew all along

China’s defense minister

Learning from the earlier mistakes of trusting the enemy, India has now started to strengthen its both defensive as well as offensive capabilities. The result of this strategic build-up enhancement was seen in the June 2020 Galwan clash with China. Continuing with its salami-slicing strategy, China was trying to transgress along with the Indian territory of the Ladakh region. But alertness and valor of Indian soldiers failed the nefarious activities of the Chinese. Indian soldiers made sure that these foot soldiers of the Chinese Communist Party did not hold an inch of Indian land and those who tried were buried deep in the Himalayan mountains.

India’s defense

China’s defense minister General Wei Fenghe speaking on India-China border relations at Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore claimed that India had sent its army inside the Chinese territory. He said that China and India are neighbors. Maintaining a good relationship is in the interest of both countries. That is what we are working on but on frictions along with the border areas, the merits of the issue are clear. I have personally experienced the start and end of the friction as a China’s defense minister. “We have found a lot of weapons owned by the Indian side. They have also sent people to the Chinese side of the territory. We had 15 rounds of corp Commander level with India and we are working together for peace in the area’”

The China’s defense minister was responding to the question asked by Dr. Tanvi Madan, director of The India Project at the Brookings Institution, a US think tank. Dr. Madan had asked the minister “why the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) two years ago had unilaterally moved to change the status quo at multiple points at the LAC with Indi, reasons that led to a military clash, violation of agreements that Beijing-Delhi had carefully negotiated over 25 years”.

Chinese misadventure

China’s defense minister General Wei’s statement reflects China’s old tactics of blaming the respondent country for its instigation. His statement that Indian weapons and personnel were found inside Chinese territory is totally misleading and represents the half-truth of the deadly story.

The Indian Army’s response against the PLA was made in saving the territorial integrity of India. India has never trespassed on anyone’s territory and the Indian Army is a professional army that never indulges in any unprofessional activities. It was the foot soldiers of the communist party of China who tried to invade the Indian territory of eastern Ldakhan and in defending its land, the Indian Army launched a deadly attack on infiltrating personnel of PLAs.

In the fierce battle of Galwan, more than 45 casualties were reported to the Chinese side. The casualty was so large that at first China refused to acknowledge any casualty but later 4 confirmed deaths were announced officially. But independent media sources claimed that China had suffered around 45 casualties.

So, the Chinese Minister’s statement that Indian personnel were inside Chinese territory is made for the population in his own country. Indian Army’s action against China was made in consonance with their pledge to defend territorial integrity and about 20 Indian soldiers also made their highest sacrifice for the pious purpose.
