Engineers have a solution to every freaking problem in this country. There are certain times of the year when we have more engineers in our country than the total number of onions! The most hilarious were the TVF guys. Founded by Arunabh Kumar in 2010, TVF is an online youth entertainment network which initially started with short comical videos revealing the funnier side of engineering and day to day life.

In one of its spoof videos of the superhit reality show MTV Roadies, it displayed an actor who played Raghu Ram. The video made him a subject of many memes and he got the recognition for the talent he had. The actor, however, has now turned into a director. Well, what an amazing director he is! Don’t believe it?  His recent directorial is receiving applauds from all over the nation.

Deepak Kumar Mishra, what a director you are!

An 11-minute video displaying Roadies’ grilling audition rounds was released by The Viral Fever on their YouTube page in February 2012. It has gathered millions of views and comments. Such was the performance by its protagonist.

Deepak Kumar Mishra is the actor turned director who is receiving positive comments for ‘Panchayat’. Yes, you heard it right. Deepak is the brain behind the depiction of the story that represents the real villages of India.

The Season 2 of Panchayat is receiving positive reviews and has surprised the web series’ fans.

On Sunday, a Twitter user @TheCineprism shared a screengrab of the iconic spoof video and wrote, “Remember this guy? He’s Deepak Kumar Mishra the director of Panchayat. #panchayat2” (sic).

Commenting on this tweet, a Twitter user wrote, “His abusive monologue in rowdies made me laugh for the longest time!” Another person remarked, “Better actor than most bollywood actors”.

For those unversed, ‘Panchayat’ is a simple slice-of-life story that portrayed the on-ground reality of rural India. While explaining why he named it ‘Panchayat’, director Deepak Kumar Mishra said, “A panchayat in India is the personification of what village life is. I wanted to revive the viewers’ fondness for classic shows and relate that to reality. When we were kids, we grew up watching shows like ‘Malgudi Days’ and ‘Panchatantra’. This had the essence of small village culture. We aimed to show the new-age generation what we grew up watching back in the day. ‘Panchayat’s name connects viewers to their motherlands.”

What makes Panchayat special?

With the success of Panchayat 2, it has been proven that honest writing and performance can work wonders. While there are a lot of things that have worked for Panchayat, the primary among them is how it has portrayed rural India. The series is based on the life of Abhishek Tripathi (played by Jitendra Kumar), an engineering student who found himself in village Phulera as a panchayat secretary. It is the honest portrayal of villages without glorifying things that made people emotionally connected to the series. Instead of using a selfish lens to portray the village life, the director stays true to depict the same. This makes ‘Panchayat’ special and is the secret behind the grand success of the web series.

However, the success should be attributed to the director who ensured that each and every individual connects with the story and its emotions and the director is exceptionally talented Deepak Kumar Mishra.
