Pakistan doesn’t understand democracy and its Arabian masters are even more clueless about it. So, we are not surprised if they are having a hard time digesting India’s latest delimitation proposal for Jammu & Kashmir.
India is upping the ante against the Kashmir propaganda coming from Islamabad and its godfathers in the Arab world. And it is the Ministry of External Affairs that is leading the charge against the Kashmir propaganda coming from Islamabad and the OIC.
Now, the OIC and Pakistan are having a seemingly difficult time in accepting the latest delimitation proposal for Jammu & Kashmir. This isn’t surprising because the likes of Pakistan don’t really understand how democracy and elections work. But it is India’s matter after all, and it is bizarre that some other country should have any objection about it.
MEA slams Pakistan and OIC
India has rejected a resolution moved in Pakistan’s National Assembly to denounce the delimitation proposal in Jammu & Kashmir.
India’s External Affairs Ministry said, “We categorically reject the farcical resolution passed by the National Assembly of Pakistan on the subject of the delimitation exercise in the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.”
The Ministry further demanded that Pakistan must stop exporting cross-border terror and cease all anti-India activities at once.
It added, “Pakistan has no locus standi to pronounce on or interfere in matters that are internal to India, including the Indian territories under Pakistan’s illegal and forcible occupation.”
The statement further read, “The delimitation exercise in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir is a democratic exercise based on the principles of extensive stakeholder consultation and participation. It is regrettable that instead of putting their own house in order, the leadership in Pakistan continues to interfere in India’s internal affairs and engage in baseless and provocative anti-India propaganda.”
OIC slammed already
India’s hard-hitting remarks against Pakistan came after OIC too got slammed for bad-mouthing the delimitation proposal in Jammu and Kashmir.
On Monday, MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said, “We are dismayed that the OIC secretariat has once again made unwarranted comments on the internal affairs of India. As in the past, the Government of India categorically rejects the assertions made by the OIC secretariat on the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir which is an integral and inalienable part of India.”
He added, “The OIC should refrain from carrying out its communal agenda vis-a-vis India at the behest of one country.”
India likely to press ahead with the delimitation proposal
External and internal forces are working relentlessly to ensure that the delimitation proposal in Jammu and Kashmir doesn’t see the light of the day.
We have already seen Pakistan make provocative remarks and the OIC too has been somewhat condescending. Within India, a petition has been filed before the Supreme Court challenging the decision to constitute the delimitation commission for redrawing the assembly and Lok Sabha constituencies.
However, India’s response to both the OIC and Pakistan suggests that New Delhi is unlikely to give in on this issue. For New Delhi, implementing a delimitation proposal in Jammu & Kashmir is a matter of its sovereign powers. So, there is no reason why some other country should even be bothered about it.

When it comes to local politics, the new proposal is all about doing justice. Jammu has been at an electoral and administrative disadvantage all this while. The aspirations of the people of Jammu haven’t therefore been given proportionate attention. The latest proposal seeks to undo this wrong by allocating 43 seats to the Jammu region and 47 to Kashmir.
