Everything has a solution if it’s done the Yogi way

The stark contrast between politics of appeasement and politics of performance has never been more visible in India than in contemporary times. While many BJP-ruled states are following the new template of development and stringent law and order, set by the UP CM Yogi Adityanath; others are dragging the same old Congress’ communal politics of riots, division, Muslim appeasement, and letting the state’s progress go nosediving.

‘Uttam Pradesh’

UP has become a shining example of Uttam Pradesh and has redefined communal harmony in the state. On 3rd May the Hindu community celebrated the auspicious festivities of Parshuram Jayanti and Akshaya Tritiya. Coincidentally on the very same day, the Muslims celebrated the Eid-ul-Fitr. People there celebrated the festivals with great zeal and enthusiasm with no untoward incidents reported throughout the state.

The officials said that it was the first time that Eid namaz was not offered on roads. While in earlier years around 50,000 to one lakh people used to come out on roads for namaz. The Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar praised the people for keeping the state’s “Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb” intact.

The UP CM Yogi lauded the people in his tweet and wrote (translated from Hindi), “A number of religious events were successfully held in Uttar Pradesh. The people of the state have taken a good initiative by not organising them on roads.”

Earlier also the state witnessed peaceful and joyous celebrations of Hindu festivals. While around 800 processions were organised in the state and no mob violence activities took place in the state contrary to many other states.

Festivities marred by Violence

The Eid celebration in the Nagaur region of Rajasthan saw an argument between two Muslim groups. The argument took place while offering Eid Namaz and soon it got escalated into clashes and the groups resorted to violence and stone-pelting. In the mayhem, many vehicles were damaged and the police took control of the area and tried to bring normalcy. This stone-pelting incident, Karauli violence, and many other similar atrocious violence suggest that Rajasthan has become a den for rioters, and mafias. The state machinery is crumbling like a pack of cards, thanks to the appeasement politics of the Congress’ Gehlot government.

Earlier many parts of the country witnessed similar horrific scenes of ugly violence. Several festivals especially the Hindu festive processions of Ram Navami and Hanuman Janmotsav were attacked viciously by the Islamist mob. Also, in the past, there have been many horrific incidents when coincidental festivities or for that matter one community’s festivals became violent and escalated into communal clashes because of attacks by Islamist mobs.

The day and night difference between the administration of UP and Rajasthan is because of the political leadership and different style of politics. While both the states are neigbours but they seem to be in a completely two different worlds altogether. On every major dimension, UP is doing far better than Rajasthan and other states that are engaged in appeasement politics and letting arson go unchecked in their states. Hence to completely annihilate communal violence and to run on a path of holistic development states must follow the Yogi Model which is to strictly comply with law and order and invest in the spiritual and physical well-being of citizens.
