Ever since the Gehlot government took charge in the Rajasthan state, it has witnessed a dramatic decline in employment, economy, and many other aspects. One of the primary aspects is communal harmony. While Rajasthan has become a living hell for Hindus, Gehlot Govt. also not doing a satisfactory job to prevent communal clashes.
Jodhpur violence: The newest clash in Rajasthan
Reportedly, the morning of Eid witnessed a chaotic situation in Rajasthan’s Jodhpur. Despite the imposition of Section 144, a fresh case of violence was reported on Tuesday morning. While interacting with the media, Jodhpur Police Commissioner Navjyoti Gogoi appealed for peace.
The Jodhpur Police Commissioner remarked, “I will tell everyone to return to their homes and remain peaceful. I congratulate my Muslim brothers on the occasion of Eid. The situation is under control, we have made sufficient arrangements and I am leaving for a flag march. Action will be taken as per law against those who have acted in contravention of the law. Some police personnel sustained minor injuries.”

“Even today morning, there was a (law and order) situation. We took action and brought it under control. We will take cognizance and will file FIR if we receive complaints from the people. Section 144 has been in place before. When people take out processions during festivals, it is done with permission,” he added.
Violence between two communities
Well, the clashes in the morning were the after-effect of what transpired on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr and Akshaya Tritiya. The violence broke out between two communities at the Jalori Gate in Jodhpur on Monday night. If the sources are to be believed then the dispute began in the aftermath of objections over a religious flag being raised at the Balmukand Bissa circle. The police, however, tried to control the situation thereby resorting to lathi-charge and tear gas.

Reportedly, more than a dozen persons including 4 policemen were injured in the Jodhpur violence. The internet services too have been suspended.
Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot then took to Twitter and stated, “It is unfortunate that tension has arisen due to the clash between two groups at Jalori Gate, Jodhpur. The administration has been instructed to maintain peace and order at all costs. Respecting the tradition of love and brotherhood of Jodhpur and Marwar, I make a touching appeal to all the parties to maintain peace and cooperate in maintaining law and order”.
What CM Ashok Gehlot doesn’t understand that tweeting and expressing disappointment won’t make him a good CM. If he wants to be one, he needs to ensure that communal harmony is not disturbed in the state.
