A day after AAP Government withdraws security, Sidhu Moose Wala shot dead

Several reports have emerged that can shock your conscience. Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala has been shot dead by unidentified assailants in Jawaharke village of Mansa district on Sunday, May 29. It is pertinent to note that the reports of his unfortunate death came a day after the Punjab Police withdrew the security of 424 people, including Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala.

Sidhu Moose Wala shot dead

The reports suggest that the attack took place while he was travelling for a personal meeting. AK-47 rifle was used to incessantly fire on Moose Wala. Moose Wala had four police gunmen on his security, out of which two were withdrawn after the Punjab police decided to withdraw the security.

According to the reports, two other people were also injured in the firing. Reports also claimed that several bullets hit the singer.

Notably, Sidhu Moose Wala joined the Congress party ahead of the Punjab Assembly elections. He had contested the recently concluded Punjab assembly election on a Congress ticket from Mansa but was defeated by AAP candidate Vijay Singla by a huge margin of 63,000 votes. Interestingly, Vijay Singla was recently sacked by CM Bhagwant Mann’s Punjab government over charges of corruption.

Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala expressed grief on Sidhu’s demise and tweeted, “Deeply shocked at the broad daylight murder of Sidhu Moose Wala. Punjab and Punjabis across the world have lost a talented artist with mass connect, who could feel people’s pulse. My heartfelt condolences to his loved ones and fans across the world.”

BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa also demanded an FIR against Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann over “negligence of chief ministerial duties”.

“We have been warning Punjab Government to pay attention to Punjab’s situation. I demand an FIR against Bhagwant Mann for negligence of his Chief Ministerial duties which has cost the life of Sidhu Moosewala. Bhagwant Mann along with Arvind Kejriwal should be booked,” Manjinder Singh Sirsa said.

Sidhu Moose Wala called AAP supporters “traitors”

Moose Wala was caught up in the limelight last month after he targeted the Aam Aadmi Party and its supporters in his latest song ‘Scapegoat’. He allegedly referred to AAP supporters as ‘gaddar’ (traitor) in his song.

In his track, Moose Wala called the Punjab voters ambiguous and accused them of defeating Sikh activist Bibi Paramjit Kaur Khalra. The song also mentions Simranjit Singh Mann and Deep Sidhu, claiming that the Punjabi people forgot their contribution.

Given the lyrics glorifying guns and drugs in his songs, Moose Wala was heavily slammed by netizens. He had also been booked twice under IPC sections 188 (disobedience to order), 294 (obscene acts and songs), and 504 (provocation to break public peace) for using a 9mm pistol at the Ladda Kothi firing range.

However, it is yet to see what unfolds in the future and the truth behind the incident.
