Rajasthan Government turns 12th Board Political Science exam into a Congress Spot Quiz

The exam officials either mistakenly took the State Board exam as a Congress membership drive or went overboard in the sycophancy of the ruling Congress party. The Education in Rajasthan has become a playground for Rajasthan Congress’ incompetence and corruption.

Education or Party Parroting

It seems that to score good marks in Board exams the students in Rajasthan have to take lessons on the Congress party alone. The Political Science exam of class 12th Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) had as many as eight questions related to the Congress Party. This seems to be a move of the exam setters to please the party, as Congress is currently the ruling dispensation in the state. The questions in the exam ranged from medium to bizarre categories.

Since the exam was of political science, a few questions may be bound to involve political parties and nothing is wrong with that. What ruffles the feathers is the skewness and the praise for the ruling party. The sycophancy can be understood from the fact that instead of political thinkers, philosophies or ideologies like Gandhian Principles, Nehruvian Socialism, Antyodaya or Marxism, Capitalism, Socialism etc it asked those questions in which Congress can be praised heavily. For example

With some questions, it seemed the exam setter is fond of one-party dominance and that too of the ruling party in the state. This seems to be quite evident from this question. The eighth question states, “The Era of One Party Dominance and the Congress System- Challenges and Restoration.”

Poor previous Track Record

The previous track record of education in Rajasthan under the Gehlot regime is very grim. Several Examination Papers have been leaked ruining the careers of the youth of the state. When the exam for selecting gurus, who will have the responsibility of grooming young minds and inculcating scientific temper in students leaked, the state’s education system is virtually on the brink of total collapse. The Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teacher (REET) exam was leaked and connections were drawn between the alleged mastermind and then education minister Govind Singh Dotasra.

The prestigious Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) has not been spared from such controversies. Apparently, two relatives of then education minister Dotasra secured very high marks (80/100) in the interview session, when many toppers were given marginal numbers.

The future of students in Rajasthan seems to be bleak. The politicisation of education in Gehlot’s Rajasthan has given preference to sycophants over meritorious subject experts and the parallel nexus of the education mafia is ruining the careers of students with virtually exam leaks becoming the norm in the state. It is high time for the students and parents to realise this degradation and the education system in the state should be overhauled and all nexus, sycophant officers are taken to task by the authorities keeping aside the politics for the future of students and the state.
