Raj Thackeray’s political career has just taken off

What is happening in Maharashtra will surely contribute to the history as a new leader is rising in Maharashtra. Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government is unknowingly giving Raj Thackeray the stature of the politician he was craving for years.

Raj Thackeray is back in action with his loudspeaker campaign

Raj Thackeray has garnered media attention with his loudspeaker campaign. Raj Thackeray and his political outfit Maharastra Navnirman Sena have come all out against the installation of loudspeakers in Masjids. Earlier Raj Thackeray has himself warned to play Hanuman Chalisa on loudspeakers if the volumes were not turned down during Azaan.

On the occasion of GudiPadwa, Thackeray said while addressing his cadre, “I am not ‘dharma-andha’. I am not against prayers. Don’t trouble others. I would say that loudspeakers must go from now. It is troublesome at 5 am. Why do you need loudspeakers? Which religion says loudspeakers need to be used? See other countries. In case, loudspeakers are used, ensure that Hanuman Chalisa is played twice the volume (of azaan) outside the mosques that use loudspeakers.”

First masjids and then Shiv Sena’s headquarters, the cadre of Raj Thackeray’s Maharastra Navnirman Sena (MNS) played Hanuman Chalisa at both the venues and this, in turn, marked Thackeray’s rise to the national forum.

With this move, Raj Thackeray is not only claiming giant Hindu leader Bala Saheb’s legacy but is also showing Shiv Sena’s patriarch Uddhav Thackeray his place.

Uddhav is taking his brother seriously this time

There have been many instances in the past when Raj Thackeray has picked a topic, ranted about Hindutva, rose to prominence and went into hibernation. But this time the case is different as Maharastra CM and Shiv Sena patriarch is unknowingly hell-bent on giving what he deserves and what was snatched from him.

Sharad Pawar’s statement on Raj Thackeray that he should not be taken seriously, is actually turning the eyes of the public towards Thackeray. Also, this is not the only incident. Raj Thackeray has tried multiple times to get appraisal and acceptance but has fallen flat on his face.

This time MVA government is making sure that history doesn’t repeat itself. In Uddhav Thackeray’s Maharashtra, an FIR has been registered against Raj Thackeray and two other MNS leaders under sections 4 and 25 of the Arms Act. The MNS leaders have been booked for wielding a sword during a rally in Thane. At a rally held in Thane, MNS chief Raj Thackeray was gifted a sword as he stepped up the podium to address the crowd. Thackeray took out the sword from the scabbard and displayed it in front of the crowd that had gathered to listen to his address.

Raj Thackeray is here to stay

Raj Thackeray has gone full throttle with his loudspeaker jibe at masjids and many are witnessing it as a step to reclaim BalaSaheb’s Hindutva legacy. Bala Saheb Thackeray, the man who established the Shiv Sena was a hardline Hindu leader. In today’s time, by sitting in ‘secular’ Congress’ lap, Uddhav Thackeray has left an ideological void in regional politics and after Raj Thackeray’s aggressive campaign it seems that he is ready to claim the space vacated for Hindutva and son of soil politics.

Raj Thackeray is a legitimate inheritor of Bal Thackeray’s politics in terms of personality, political oratory, and almost every other political trait. He delivers speeches in the same fashion; chants the same slogans; and of course is a great crowd puller.

Raj Thackeray is blunt like Bal Thackeray. His style of politics does not go very well with the left-liberal media establishment, like that of Bal Thackeray. Just like the late Hindutva icon, he poses utmost faith in the people, rather than other institutions like courts and legislature. It should not be missed that Raj’s political guru was BalaSaheb himself. Raj Thackeray owns a similar ideology as of BalaSaheb and hence is often identified as the real successor of his legacy.
