Main Jhukega Nahin – Happy Birthday Allu Arjun!

‘Surya’ of the South – Indian cinema. The ‘Pushpa’ who managed to gain love from the audience all over India. The actor has set a new standard of acting skills. Any guesses, who is he? Well, ‘Jhukega Nahi Sala’ is enough to introduce the man of the year who made entertainment pundits bite their nails to witness the grand success of ‘Pushpa: The Rise’. Yes, he is Allu Arjun – the superstar.

Allu Arjun conquered Bollywood

Allu Arjun arrived, and he took the Indian box office by storm. That too when India was still dealing with 50 percent occupancy in theatres. What comes as a bigger surprise is that the actor dominated Indian theatres at a time when Ranveer Singh’s ‘83’ failed to make a mark at the Box Office, and ‘Spiderman: No Way Home’ was thought to be dominating Indian theatres.

A film that was supposed to get the Telugu audiences back to movie halls made the audience all over India dance in the theatre. It wasn’t the audience only who went crazy for the movie but the celebs along with cricketers too began making Instagram reels as they mimicked Allu’s dialogues.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Allu Arjun expressed how people in the Hindi belt have been watching Telugu films dubbed in Hindi for several years now. “They have been seeing dubbed films. This (success) didn’t happen overnight. It is the 100th sugar cube effect,” he said.

In such an environment – when the third wave was upon India – for Pushpa to clock over 250 crore rupees domestically alone is testimony to the fact that Indians no longer want to watch Bollywood films.

Pushpa: The Rise is an action drama based on the lives of red sandalwood smugglers in the Seashachalam hills of Andhra Pradesh. The first part concentrated on the rise of Pushpa Raj, who starts as a daily laborer and goes on to show how he slowly becomes a key player in the smuggling syndicate.

Allu Arjun – a new superstar of the pan – India

Before the pandemic, it was Allu Arjun’s Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo that entertained the cinema-goers. As per an ETimes report, Sarrainodu and Allu Sirish’s ABCD – American Born Confused Desi emerged as the most-watched movie on television in 2021. Moreover, in 2018, the dubbed version of Sarrainodu became the most-watched Indian movie of all time on YouTube.

Witnessing its success, the film is all set to get its Hindi remake. The remake will be titled Shehzada starring Kartik Aaryan in the lead role. Despite such popularity in the Northern states of the country, Allu Arjun never showed tantrums like other stars. He, in a statement, had stated, “Absolutely fortunate to be loved in another language because I do not speak that language. We were making a Telugu film. It just happened that it got dubbed in Hindi. And it was received with amazing love. Now that so many people are watching it, we want to give you the best quality film possible. Bhaiyyo aur behno, thank you for all the love.”

Indian audiences, meanwhile, have made their choice clear. They want authenticity and content. Allu Arjun is the fresh breeze that Indian audiences have been longing for, for a very long time.
