Dear Raj Thackeray, praising Yogi Model is great, when will we see you in action?

Raj Thackeray letter to Yogi

Raj Thackeray, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) patriarch has been the talk of the town with his loudspeaker row. He recalled the image of Balasaheb Thackeray with his heroic speech on Gudi Padwa when he waged a war against the use of loudspeakers by Masjids. Now, Thackeray is singing praises of CM Yogi Adityanath for bringing down the loudspeakers from religious places. Well, the real question is when will the public see Raj Thackeray in action.

Raj Thackeray sings praises of CM Yogi

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has been gaining applause for bringing down 11000 loudspeakers from religious places. Along with this, the government has managed to bring down around 35000 loudspeakers below the permissible level.

The recent member of CM Yogi’s fan club is MNS leader Raj Thackeray. On Thursday, Raj Thackeray shared a note praising CM Yogi Adityanath. Thackeray shared a congratulatory note and thanked UP CM Yogi Adityanath for taking action on loudspeakers, removing them from religious places, “specially the masjids”.

He wrote in his note, “Unfortunately in Maharashtra, we don’t have any yogis; what we have are ‘bhogis’. Here’s hoping and praying good sense prevails.”

Praising CM Yogi is great, but what’s next?

By praising CM Yogi’s action on loudspeakers, Raj Thackeray has gained some media attention, but this step cannot be seen as a precedence to Raj Thackeray bouncing back into action.

Raj Thackeray is already 10 years late in claiming the legacy of late Balasaheb Thackeray. A legacy of firebrand Hindutva, from which Balasaheb’s Shiv Sena has distanced itself after aligning with the secular parties like the ‘Congress’.

Raj Thackeray had made several attempts to gain legitimate support from the Balasaheb’s clan and present himself as the undisputed inheritor of his political legacy.

Raj Thackeray needs to reclaim the forgotten legacy of Balasaheb

Giant Hindu leader Bal Thackeray was a vocal critic of ‘secular politics’ and the irony today is that Shiv Sena is sitting in the lap of Congress. Shiv Sena patriarch Uddhav Thackeray has totally forgotten the politics of his father. The Shiv Sena which criticized dynastic politics has assigned Bal Thackeray’s grandson Aditya a ministerial berth.

There is an ideological void created by Shiv Sena’s alliance with Congress, and after Raj Thackeray’s aggressive campaign it seems that he is ready to claim the space vacated for Hindutva and son of soil politics. It should not be missed that Raj’s political guru was Balasaheb himself, and he is the legitimate inheritor of Bal Thackeray’s legacy.

And with his loudspeaker campaign against masjids, Raj Thackeray waged a vocal war against the MVA government. However, the ones who are aware of the legacy of Balasaheb are still doubtful as all that Raj Thackeray is doing is making fiery speeches.
