- In clips going viral, Yogendra Yadav is seen admitting that he had laid the groundwork for the opposition in elections
- People already knew that farmers protests were never about the actual farmers but now Yadav has made it crystal clear
- Opposition and other high profile activists are trying their best to sway people’s opinion against BJP, only to fail regularly
The recently concluded assembly elections were the test of democracy in India. As such, the victory of BJP in 4 out of 5 states underlined the fact that a small minority of fringe groups’ outdated opinions cannot undermine the mandate of masses. This is exactly the reason why Yogendra Yadav is furious at Samajwadi Party (SP).
Yogendra Yadav’s disappointment
Owing to large number of welfare schemes, improved law and order and subsequently the galvanised Hindu votes, BJP was able to register a thumping victory in 4 out of 5 states. But the supposedly non-political activists are still not able to grasp the mood of public and they are blaming opposition for BJP’s victory.

Yogendra Yadav, apparently a predictor of political outcomes is furious after his efforts to remove BJP were ‘whitewashed’ by the opposition. In one of his viral clips analyzing election results on NDTV, Yadav is seen inadvertently admitting that through protests, he laid the ground for BJP’s defeat in states.

Minds of people are like Cricket Pitch
Lauding Mamata Banerjee’s TMC for capitalizing on his role in making BJP unpopular in state, Yogendra said, “We laid the groundwork, but that does not take away credit from the Trinamool Congress party, which played brilliantly.” Criticizing BJP’s opposition (especially Samajwadi Party) for not utilizing his activism in recent elections, he said, “We did the same thing in Uttar Pradesh…we can only prepare the pitch, but the players must play”

However, that is not all. In another clip, Yadav admitted that leaders of farmers’ protests like him and Rakesh Tikait had actually laid the groundwork for BJP’s opposition to utilise. Calling sentiments of millions of voters a cricket pitch which he holds capacity to manipulate, Yadav said, “it’s not our job to bat or ball; our job is to prepare the pitch… we can tilt (manipulate) the pitch a little, which we did.”

It was never about farmers, but about removing BJP
Though, Yadav’s clips are going viral after election results, most of Indians know that the protests were fabricated and innocent farmers were manipulated to attend the year-long protests. It was evident within few months of protests when Modi government accepted initial demands of these so called leaders, but still they refused to withdraw their protests.
These leaders were hell bent on totally doing away with farm laws so that bottom 85 percent of farmers would never get an opportunity to double their income. This would allow aristocratic individuals like Yogendra Yadav and Rakesh Tikait to maintain their control on policies regarding lives of millions of poor farmers.

Yogendra Yadav’s statements have made it clear that the so called farmers’ protests were never about farmers. It was about eliminating one single party from spectrum of national politics. It is the party which never allowed so called intellectuals to sway its policies.
