As per current trends, BJP looks set to get more than 62 seats out of 82 seats where Muslims comprise 33 per cent of total voters. It is a major improvement over their 2017 numbers in the same assembly constituencies
CM Yogi won over Muslim voters through various progressive programmers meant towards uplifting them.
Modernised Madrasa
Yogi Government introduced modern education among orthodox Muslims still taking Madrasa education ingrained in the 7th century. Yogi’s introduction of NCERT is Madrasa was one of the most revolutionary and courageous move by any politician towards reviving the Muslim community.

Yogi government specially earmarked Rs 479 crore for modernization of Madrasa. Similarly, the government also set aside Rs 829 crore for scholarships of Muslim students. Additionally, Government took care of Muslims’ basic infrastructural facilities by allotting Rs 588 crore for the purpose.
Provided employment
On the employment front, Yogi’s One District One Product scheme proved to be beneficial to the Muslim community. Muslims of UP are skilled in various small industry skills like making locks, bells, ghunghroos, shoes, carpets etc
Through ODOP, Yogi Government made it mandatory for every district to produce one product on a mass level. Skillsets and supply chains were aligned in such a way that it became imperative for industrialists to hire Muslim craftsmen.
Empowered Muslim women
Muslim women living the lives of the Dark Age of the 7th century was also a big issue. They were not given autonomy by deep-seated patriarchy. Moreover, these women were subject to the mercy of their husbands as he could force them out of his house by pronouncing Triple Talaq.

Removal of Triple talaq was one big move that upshot Muslim women’s status in society. Similarly, CM Yogi’s progressive stand on the recent Hijab row played a major role in pulling Muslim women votes in favour of the BJP.
Throughout election campaigns, the opposition left no stone unturned in their attempt of demonizing BJP among Muslims. However, the Muslim community in UP has shown that it cares for welfare more than anything else.
