PFI is turning into another SIMI, but RSS is well prepared

The Rashtriya Sawayamsewak Sangh (RSS) has recognized the suspicious role of the Campus Front of India (CFI) the student wing of the Popular Front of India (PFI) in turning hijab protests into a national issue and galvanising students from the minority community. The RSS has a perfect plan to counter the PFI.

PFI: Another SIMI in making

PFI, an extremist Islamic organisation was formed in 2006, as a successor to National Development Front. PFI, a political outfit based in Kerala, is a top favourite of the so-called ‘secular’ parties and an eyesore for the legal authorities.

It is believed that PFI is an offshoot of SIMI, the mastermind of the 2006 Mumbai and 2008 Ahmedabad blasts.

There have been witnessed an active involvement of PFI and its student front CFI in the anti-CAA protests and Hijab controversy.

This in turn had led to growing voices demanding a ban on this organisation from the government.

Even Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma has asked the central government to ban the government not for “hijab controversy, but radicalisation.”

RSS smells the danger

 Several fronts of PFI are expanding their base. Most exponential growth has been seen of CFI, which is expanding its base within the university campuses of India, especially in the southern states. They are also begun making forays in the North too and their presence was marked in the anti-CAA protests in UP. The RSS seems to be a little uncomfortable with this expansion as it has smelled the danger, these organisations can cause.

The RSS is worried because PFI’s organizational structure and functioning are quite copied from the RSS. Like RSS, PFI has a socio-cultural outreach, they are present everywhere from society to campuses. They even have a separate wing for women, National Woman’s Front.

The exponential expansion of an Islamic extremist organisation, which has been accused of terror links, needs immediate attention, and RSS is ready with a full proof plan to counter their growing influence.

RSS to counter PFI’s “militant activism”

 The RSS has not only recognized the poison PFI is dissolving into the society but also has a perfect plan to counter its growing influence. Sangh has decided to counter the growth of CFI but expanding ABVP’s base in the university campuses of Southern states. ABVP has a remarkable presence in India, with 33,44,917 members at the current time. Hence, the plan to grow in the southern states is not a far fetched idea.

Secondly, the Sangh believes that “not all Muslims are aligned with the ideology of PFI.” Hence, the Sangh has decided to reach out to the Muslim community not aligned with the PFI. The RSS believes that with this outreach program they will be able to expose PFI and tell truth on “misinformation spread by the outfit.”

RSS has accused PFI of militant activism and has also laid out the plan to counter the same.
