Major Gaurav Arya earned an honours degree in history in 1992. He did agree, though, that Hansraj College was where the majority of his pals were. In 1993, Arya enlisted in the Indian Army as a short-services commissioned officer. His duty to the Armed Forces began on the day he began training as an SSC. On March 5, 1994, he was commissioned into the Kumaon Regiment’s 17th Battalion.
