The world seemingly has realised India’s strength and thus is looking towards India on almost every issue for India. Pakistan is no different and is well aware of the fact that even when its allies will backstab, it is only India that will not deny help. The situation of Pakistan is worsening day by day, all thanks to its Prime Minister Imran Khan. A few months after facing a mutiny by its own envoys, Imran Khan has now been discarded by its own Army Chief General Qamar Bajwa and other allies. Guess what, Imran has turned towards India for help.
No confidence motion against Imran Khan
In a major embarrassment for the Prime Minister of the terror-sponsoring nation of Pakistan, some of his allies and dissident members have asked PM Imran Khan to step down and let someone else step in as the prime minister. They have accused Imran Khan’s ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party of misusing the state police and law enforcing agencies to ensure that the rebels cannot vote.
Imran’s opponents have accused him of bad governance and economic incompetence as inflation was rising dramatically in the country. In a retaliation comment, he had said that he did not join politics to check the prices of “aloo and tamatar“.
Recently, an hour-long meeting between Imran Khan and General Bajwa and ISI chief Lt General Nadeem Anjum was conducted.
Pakistani army told the media that the meeting was conducted to discuss “matters of mutual national, regional, and international interest”. But, if the sources are to be believed, the meeting was called to discuss the impending no-confidence vote that Imran Khan is attempting to thwart using “illegal” means.
“While Khan complained to Bajwa about his ‘neutrality’, the army chief is reported to have advised him to follow the Constitution and act responsibly,” said the source.
A dozen dissident lawmakers have led Khan to lose the parliamentary majority as he does not have a minimum of 172 seats– needed for a majority. However, the joint opposition commands 163 seats in the lower house and could easily have a majority if the defectors join its ranks via a no-confidence vote.
Prime Minister Imran eyeing India for help
It goes without saying that Imran Khan does not like the ruling NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi because of its nationalistic and anti-terror approach. Despite this, in his address at a public rally in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province, he lauded India for following an “independent foreign policy”.
Khan asserted, “India, which is a part of the Quad, has imported oil from Russia despite American sanctions.”
Imran Khan, while praising India, asserted, “Main aaj Hindustan ko daad deta hun (I praise our neighbouring country Hindustan) as they always had independent foreign policy. Today, India is in their (America) alliance and they are part of QUAD (Quadrilateral Security Dialogue); they say that are neutral. They are importing oil from Russia despite sanctions because their policy is for the betterment of people.”
Pakistan’s economic crisis
Earlier as reported by TFI, the Islamist nation’s economy, frankly, is in the toilet. The forex situation of Pakistan has been dismal for the last few months and declined from 19.2 billion dollars to 17.2 billion dollars in the last month. Pakistan is going through a torrid time on the economic front. The sky-high inflation, owing to depreciation in the value of the Pakistani rupee and the new tax policies implemented by the government has led to inflation rates crossing the 9 per cent mark in September.

This was exposed by an official Twitter handle of Pakistan when it posted a public message on the social media platform asking Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan about for how long his government expects the government officials to remain silent when they have not been paid for the last three months.
Pakistan is having a hard time and the seemingly only stable job one can secure in Pakistan, with an uninterrupted flow of cash, is that of a terrorist. Imran Khan, however, resorts to India’s foreign policy to gain support to save his governance. No Prime Minister of Pakistan has completed the full term in office and with such things unfolding, Imran Khan, too, probably will be thrown out of power before completing his tenure as PM.
