Mahedi Hasan (born December 12, 1994) is a Bangladeshi cricketer who represents the Khulna Division and the national squad. In February 2018, he made his international debut for Bangladesh. Domestic cricket

Mahedi Hasan made his Twenty20 (T20) debut for Barisal Bulls in the 2016–17 Bangladesh Premier League on November 8, 2016.

Following the drought for the 2018–19 Bangladesh Premier League, Mahedi was named to the Comilla Victorians squad in October 2018.

He earned his first five-wicket haul in first-class cricket in November 2018, while bowling for South Zone in the 2018–19 Bangladesh Cricket League.

He was one of 35 cricketers named to a training camp in August 2019 ahead of Bangladesh’s 2019–20 season. He was selected to play for the Dhaka Platoon in the 2019–20 Bangladesh Premier League in November 2019.

For the first T20I against Sri Lanka on February 15, Bangladesh has included five uncapped players in their team. The seven changes in the side include the additions of Abu Jayed, Ariful Haque, Mahedi Hasan, Zakir Hasan, and Afif Hossain, as well as the return of Abu Hider after a two-year absence.

Mahedi Hasan short biography

Mahedi was named in Bangladesh’s Twenty20 International (T20I) team for the series against Sri Lanka in February 2018. On February 18, 2018, he made his T20I debut for Bangladesh against Sri Lanka. In the 2019–20 Bangladesh Tri-Nation Series, he was re-added to the squad for the first two T20Is, however he did not play and was omitted for the next two T20Is.

He was picked to Bangladesh’s squad for the 2019 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup in Bangladesh in November 2019. Later that month, he was named to Bangladesh’s squad for the 2019 South Asian Games men’s cricket event. Bangladesh won the gold medal after defeating Sri Lanka in the final by seven wickets.

Mahedi was picked in Bangladesh’s One Day International (ODI) team for a series against the West Indies in January 2021. He was picked in Bangladesh’s squad for their series against New Zealand the following month. On March 20, 2021, he made his ODI debut for Bangladesh against New Zealand.
