Parambrata Chatterjee is an Indian film actor and director who was born on June 27, 1980. Parambrata began his film and television career in Bengali. Under the direction of Sandip Ray, he played the fictional character Topshe from Feluda. In 2012, he made his Hindi film debut in Kahaani, alongside Vidya Balan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. He also appeared in Bhalo Theko (2003), Sold (2014), Kadambari (2017-), Anukul (2017), Traffic (2018), Pari (2018), Ramprasad Ki Tehrvi (2019), and Bulbbul (2020), all directed by Jeffrey D. Brown. Parambrata Chatterjee short biography

Parambrata Chatterjee was born in Kolkata, West Bengal, to cinema reviewers as parents. Satinath Chatterjee and Sunetra Ghatak are his parents, and he is the maternal grandson of Ashish Chandra Ghatak and Gita Ghatak, as well as the grandnephew of filmmaker Ritwik Ghatak.

Parambrata’s aunt is Mahasweta Devi, a well-known Bengali author and activist. Members of the far-right BJP have frequently targeted him because of his liberal and secular ideas.

He was once married to Swastika Mukherjee, an actress. For about a decade, he has been in a relationship with Ike Schouten, a doctor from the Netherlands. Parambrata received her education at Kolkata’s Patha Bhavan. He is a socialist who used to refer to his late mother as ‘Comrade.’

Career

Parambrata Chatterjee has been in a number of TV shows, telefilms, short films, and feature films. Jiyo Kaka, starring Rituparna Sengupta and Rudranil Ghosh, is his directorial debut feature film. Hawa Bodol was his second directorial effort. Jeffrey D. Brown, who won an Academy Award for his debut short film in 1986, signed him for his feature Sold seven months after Kahaani’s breakthrough.

On 30 May 2011, he and a colleague, Rudranil Ghosh, launched Workshop Productions Pvt. Ltd, in collaboration with Dipak Raha of the Sambandh Group, and became producers.

In 2021, he won IWMBuzz Digital Awards Season 3 for Most Popular Supporting Actor In A Digital Film Bulbbul.
