Yuzvendra Singh Chahal (born July 23, 1990) is an Indian cricketer and former chess player who has represented India in both One Day Internationals (ODIs) and Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is), as well as at youth levels in chess. In Indian domestic cricket, he represented Haryana, and in the Indian Premier League, he previously represented Royal Challengers Bangalore till the 2021 season. He’s a left-handed leg-break bowler. Chahal became only the second player in T20I history to take six wickets, and the first Indian to do so. In an international cricket match, he was the first concussion substitute to be named Man of the Match.

In 2016, he was picked to a 14-man squad to tour Zimbabwe. On 11 June 2016, he made his One Day International (ODI) debut against Zimbabwe at Harare Sports Club. Richmond Mutumbami was his first ODI wicket.

Chahal got three wickets for just 26 runs in the second match, leading his team to an 8-wicket victory. In his second over, he sped up to 109 km/h with a seam-up delivery. He was also named the first international man of the match for his bowling prowess.

On 18 June 2016, he made his Twenty20 International (T20I) debut against Zimbabwe in Harare. Malcolm Waller was his first T20I wicket.

He became the first Indian bowler to record a five-wicket haul in T20Is on February 1, 2017, with scores of 6/25 against England. Yuzvendra Chahal was also the first leg spinner to take a fifer and a six-wicket haul in a T20I, and he still holds the record for the best leg spin bowling in T20I history (6/25). He had the most T20I wickets (23) of any bowler in 2017.
