While some Sikhs in India dream about another nation, Sikhs from other nations tell a different tale

Sikhs

The grass on the other side of the river appears greener. That’s what seems to be the case with few Sikhs living in India. With the coming of PM Modi in 2014, the hatred for India’s majority community has only turned more poisonous among Khalistani quarters. And, under the garb of farmers’ protests, these elements did everything in their might to divide India.

However, Sikhs in other countries have seemingly realised that India is the only country to consider the Sikh community as its own.

Sikhs thank PM Modi

A video is making rounds on social media these days. Parminder Singh Brar, an England-based lawyer, and ex OSD to Deputy CM of Punjab has shared the video. The video shows Sikhs who were evacuated from Afghanistan when the Taliban took over it in July 2021.  Through the video, they are expressing their gratitude towards the government and the Prime Minister.

The video begins with a Sikh person asserting that “I would say that if there is anything impossible in the world, it becomes possible when it comes to Narendra Modi. We people understand what kind of a person Narendra Modi is and how helpful he had been to us. He had finished the tasks that many others could not. And moreover, he has showered love upon us that we can never forget.”

Another person appears in the video who used to offer his services in a Gurudwara in Afghanistan. He said, “I used to work in Kabul. I would offer my services in a Gurudwara there. The Taliban abducted me from the Gurudwara and took me away. I am very happy that I am alive today all thanks to Hindustan especially PM Modi who has helped me a lot.”

The video shows many Sikhs praising and thanking PM Modi for his gesture to evacuate the people of the particular community.  Another Sikh who appeared in the video, said, “He (PM Modi) brought our people back, sent aeroplanes for them. There were 400 to 500 years old copies of Shri Guru Granth Sahib, Shrimadbhagvadgeeta, Ramayana, etc. PM Modi has brought back all the historic and cultural inheritance. He walks the talk.”

“India is your home”: PM Modi to Sikhs

Reportedly, a delegation of Sikhs and Hindus from Afghanistan met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday. The Sikh community expressed their gratitude and thanked PM Modi for introducing the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) as well as standing up for them amidst the crises.

PM Modi, for the humble personality he is, told them they are not guests but that India is their home.

Reportedly, the delegations were teary-eyed when they heard him talking about making special arrangements to bring back ‘Swaroop’ of Guru Granth Sahib from Afghanistan to India with proper reverence.

They also praised PM Modi saying “He is not just the prime minister of India, but the prime minister of the world as he understands the difficulties faced especially by Hindus and Sikhs across the world and makes all-out efforts to provide immediate help in all such cases.”

Despite the warm relations between both the communities, that is, Hindu and Sikhs, there are certain Khalistani elements who have taken the anti-India path. It is the time the Sikh community needs to teach them a lesson or they will end up disrupting the peace and harmony in the country.
