Rohan Sippy is an Indian filmmaker who has directed four films: Kuch Naa Kaho (2003), Bluffmaster! (2005), Dum Maaro Dum (2011), and Nautanki Saala (2012).

He is the grandson of producer G. P. Sippy and the son of Ramesh Sippy, the filmmaker of the Hindi blockbuster film Sholay.

His latest film as a director was Ayushmann Khurrana and Kunaal Roy Kapur starring Nautanki Saala. The film was released on 12 April 2013.

Sippy attended Aiglon College in Switzerland and Stanford University for his undergraduate degree.

Family

Rohan Sippy was married to Roopa. She was his long-time girlfriend and previously married to Rohena Gera and they divorced in 2003.

In 2009, he married Roopa, and on November 27, 2012, they welcomed a baby girl name Inaya.

Roopa worked as an executive producer on the film Chandni Chowk to China with Sippy.

Kuch Naa Kaho

Kuch Naa Kaho is a romance drama directed by Rohan Sippy and starring Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan, and Arbaaz Khan that was released in India in 2003. On September 5, 2003, it was released. The film’s title is derived from a song from the film 1942: A Love Story (1994). Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy wrote the soundtrack. Javed Akhtar wrote the lyrics. The soundtrack album for this film was the thirteenth best-selling album of the year, according to the Indian trade website Box Office India, with roughly 11,00,000 units sold.

Bluffmaster

Bluffmaster! is a Hindi crime comedy film directed by Rohan Sippy and produced by Ramesh Sippy that was released in 2005 in India. Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Priyanka Chopra, Sanjay Mishra, Boman Irani, and Nana Patekar are among the cast members. It’s a remake of the Argentine film Nine Queens from 2000. It tells the storey of a conman who is dumped by his lover and, after discovering he is dying, chooses to aid a new apprentice before dying.

Bluffmaster premiered on December 16, 2005, to mixed reviews from critics. The film was a box office triumph, becoming a semi-hit and the 13th highest-grossing Bollywood film of the year.

Dum Maaro Dum

Dum Maaro Dum is a 2011 Indian Hindi-language action thriller film directed by Rohan Sippy and starring Abhishek Bachchan and Bipasha Basu, with Rana Daggubati, Prateik Babbar, and Aditya Pancholi in supporting parts. It was filmed in the state of Goa. In the remix version of the hit song of the same name, Deepika Padukone makes a special cameo. Pritam composed the soundtrack for the film. This is the first time a Bollywood film has received Dolby 7.1 Surround Sound treatment.

Nautanki Saala

Nautanki Saala! (dramatic scamp!) is a romantic comedy-drama film directed by Rohan Sippy and starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Pooja Salvi, Evelyn Sharma, and Gaelyn Mendonca in Hindi. The plot is based on the French comedy film Après Vous, which was released in 2003.
