Their son, Vedaant, was born on August 21, 2005, prompting the family to relocate from Kilpauk, where Madhavan’s parents and in-law resided, to the boat-club neighborhood of Chennai. He moved to Kandivali, Mumbai, with his wife and children in 2009 to pursue a career in Hindi films before moving on to the South Indian industries.

He went on to teach communication and public speaking at workshops all throughout India after finishing his degree. In 1991, he met his wife Sarita Birje for the first time at the Maharashtra workshop, when she came on the recommendation of her relatives to take his class. Sarita was able to pass an interview for a job as an air hostess using the abilities she had learnt in Madhavan’s lectures, and the two began dating once the course was over. Before Madhavan’s mainstream cinema debut in 1999, they married. The media has followed the couple’s wedding, with Madhavan claiming that his guru Mani Ratnam’s counsel was helpful.

Ranganathan Madhavan (born June 1, 1970) is a Tamil and Hindi cinema actor, writer, director, and producer. Madhavan has won three Tamil Nadu State Film Awards and four Filmfare Awards South. He has been considered as one of India’s few actors who can appeal to a pan-Indian audience, having acted in films in seven different languages.
Madhavan rose to prominence in Tamil cinema because of Mani Ratnam’s hit romantic flick Alaipayuthey (2000). He quickly established himself as a romantic hero, starring in Gautham Vasudev Menon’s directorial debut Minnale and Madras Talkies’ Dumm Dumm Dumm, two of the highest-grossing Tamil films of 2001.
