Karma is real. There are repercussions for every action. These are not ‘pep talks’ but the truth. And those who do not believe in Karma must know Azam Khan’s story. The Rampur MP Azam Khan had once threatened the DM of Rampur and the latter made him run for his life. The DM ensured that Azam Khan gets arrested. It was his efforts that led to Azam Khan being put behind the bars.
When Azam Khan threatened DM Anjaneya
Azam Khan, a Rampur MP is the Samajwadi Party’s tallest Muslim leader. Needless to say, SP depends almost entirely on him to hold on to their Muslim voter base. Currently, he is in jail on the charges of forgery.
But, when he was in power, he used to threaten administrative institutions. Little did he know that threatening a nationalist DM would cost him the power, money, and everything he had.
Earlier in 2017, Azam Khan had threatened Former Rampur DM Anjaneya Kumar Singh for tightening the noose around him and his family. While addressing a public meeting back then, Khan said, “Don’t take enmity to such a level that after four years, you couldn’t find a place to hide.” Khan was perhaps enraged after Singh acted against his Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar University in the case of land grabbing in Rampur.

Moreover in 2019, when SP and BSP had allied for the general elections, Khan had threatened the then DM Singh, promising his supporters that he would make him clean Mayawati’s shoes if the alliance won the elections. He told his supporters, “You need not be afraid of the DM. I will make him clean Mayawati’s shoes after we win.”
Rampur DM put him behind the bars
Singh had gained prominence after he increased the pressure on Azam Khan, his family and aides who are accused in several cases of land grabbing and forgery during his stint as the Rampur DM.
Singh was directed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to inquire into allegations that government land had been handed over to Azam Khan’s trust.
Later, it was found that a road belonging to gram samaj land and a village road had been illegally transferred in 2012-13 to Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar University.
How Karma has slapped Azam Khan
Azam Khan currently is in jail. But it’s not just him who is paying the price for all the misdeeds. His family has also been put behind the bars for being accused in more than 70 cases.
In 2017, 10 cases were filed against the Samajwadi MP in revenue board by the then DM of Rampur for procuring 104 acres of land belonging to people of Scheduled Caste “against rules”. Reportedly, in 2019, over 70 cases were lodged against Azam Khan and his family members for forgery, theft, extortion, and other crimes within a few months.
It is pertinent to note that the maximum number of cases pertained to the encroachment of land that was usurped in the construction of the Jauhar University. Notably, Azam Khan is chairman of the university. Considering the number of cases against him, he was labelled as land mafia by DM.
Moreover, Abdullah Azam, son of leader of the Samajwadi MP, was lodged in jail for almost 23 months. He was released on bail from Sitapur jail in January 2022. Azam’s son Abdullah, like his father, was booked in 43 cases, ranging from theft to extortion and forgery.
In addition to that, Azam’s wife Tazeen Fatima is also a co-accused in many of these cases. She was released from Sitapur jail in December 2020.
However, Azam Khan is yet to get bail in all of those cases.
Now, you must have realised that Karma is real, and everyone has to pay the price for their acts.
