Nilesh Narayan Rane: Former INC and Current BJP leader

Nilesh Narayan Rane is an Indian politician who served in the 15th Lok Sabha. He is currently serving as the Pradesh Sachiv of BJP in Maharashtra. Nilesh Narayan Rane was a member of the Indian National Congress (INC) and represented the Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg constituency in Maharashtra.

He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party as of 2019. (BJP). Rane served on the Rules Committee and the Committee on Home Affairs in the 15th Lok Sabha. At the age of 28, Rane was elected to the 15th Lok Sabha.

Career

Rane was defeated by Sena candidate Vinayak Raut in the 2014 Lok Sabha election. Rane was detained in Goa in 2013 for vandalising a toll booth. To escape paying the toll, Rane pretended to be his brother, Congress MP Nilesh Rane. When officials called his bluff, however, he caused damage to the toll plaza. Nitesh Rane was on his way to Goa when his vehicle was halted for payment at a toll booth at Dhargal, 30 kilometres from Panaji, as part of the state’s new entry procedure for vehicles registered outside of Goa.

A furious Nilesh Narayan Rane and his supporters allegedly attempted to assault the booth’s occupants as well as demolish the boom barrier and toll operator cabin. Later, he was apprehended by police at a hotel in Calangute run by a corporation controlled by the Rane family.

Rane was arrested in 2016 for the kidnapping of the Congress Taluka president from Chiplun, who claimed that Rane and his party members kidnapped, abused, and kept him inside a locked room for missing the Maratha meet. Nilesh Narayan Rane was arrested in the Maharashtra town of Chiplun in 2016.

After his anticipatory bail was denied in a case where Rane allegedly attacked a party worker, the Bombay High Court ordered him to surrender. Rane and his party members allegedly kidnapped, assaulted, and imprisoned him inside a locked room for missing the Maratha meet, according to Congress Taluka president from Chiplun.
