Her husband Sudhir Chaudhary is a media personality and journalist from India. He is the CEO and editor-in-chief of Zee News, WION, Zee Business, and Zee 24 Taas, as well as the host of Zee News’ prime-time broadcast Daily News And Analysis (DNA).
Since the 1990s, Chaudhary has worked in the television news profession. He was a member of the first generation of television journalists,working in live television reporting and later on 24-hour news television. After the 2001 Indian Parliament attack, Chaudhary was said to have been part of the crew that covered the Vajpayee–Musharraf Indo-Pak conference in Islamabad.

He left Zee News in 2003. He was crucial in the development of Sahara Samay, the Sahara group’s Hindi news channel. For a brief time, he also worked for India TV. He returned to Zee News in 2012 to host the news show Daily News & Analysis (DNA).

In 2013, Chaudhary received the Ramnath Goenka Award for Excellence in Journalism in the area of “Hindi broadcast.” He earned the award for his conversation with a friend of the Delhi gang-rape victim on December 16.

In November 2012, Chaudhary and his colleague Sameer Ahluwalia were arrested on extortion charges, after businessman Naveen Jindal claimed that the two journalists tried to extort $100 million in advertising from his company in exchange for stories linking the Jindal Group to the Coalgate scandal. The two were detained in Tihar jail for 14 days before being released on bail. In the wake of these allegations, the Broadcast Editors Association suspended Chaudhary as treasurer, claiming that he had acted against the Association’s interests and aims.
The Jindal Group wrote to the investigative agencies in July 2018, stating that a settlement had been made and asked that the claims against the journalists be dropped and the matter be closed; on the same day, bribery charges were filed against Jindal and others involved in the case.
Chaudhary accused Trinamool MP Mahua Moitra of plagiarizing Truman Longman’s speech pointing out early elements of fascism in India, which both Longman and Moitra later disputed. Mahua Moitra filed a criminal defamation complaint against Sudhir Chaudhary, following which Chaudhary admitted that only a portion of Mahua Moitra’s statement was broadcast and expressed remorse on his daily prime time show. Zee Media has filed a defamation suit against her for referring to the news as “chor” and “paid.”
