Tamil Nadu Government destroyed ancient Shiva Temple in Sriperumbudur

Ever since MK Stalin became the state CM in Tamil Nadu, there has been unrestrained destruction and desecration of the Hindu faith. Reportedly, under the garb of encroachment clearance drive, the DMK government has been demolishing temples to show how little they care about the beliefs or customs of the Sanatan Dharma. In a recent development, an ancient Shiva temple that prevented conversion in the region has been demolished by the Tamil Nadu government.

MK Stalin’s anti-Hindu ideology

The Kanaka Kaleeswarar temple near Sriperumbudur, run by Tapovanam Charitable trust has been demolished by the Tamil Nadu government. The government falsely claimed that the temple encroached government land thus it had to take strict action. However, the devotees accused that the government authorities demolished the temple before the time limit they had given to the devotees to shift the Murtis.

The devotees had prior gone to meet the district collector to arrive at a compromise, where they were assured that only the compound wall and Annadana hall will be demolished as the garbhagriha was built only on a 15 cent legally acquired land. However, the missionary forces of the government demolished the entire temple.

The temple held great importance to the locals and had gained a huge reputation as it had also been helping small temples around it to survive. Moreover, it has also been preventing conversion in the region which might have infuriated the MK Stalin led DMK government.

However, Hindu organisations have vowed to knock on the door of the court and do everything in their might to restore the temple. BJP legal wing secretary Aswathaman, expressing his resentment, questioned the authority, “When the government is taking over temple lands with impunity to build government offices/quarters why won’t it tolerate temples built on government land. Sole might think that it is a wrong comparison. But when temple funds are used to open colleges and schools where even non-Hindus are employed and educated, shouldn’t the government open its purse and properties for Hindu causes as well? When collector offices and police quarters(KallakurichiVeerachozhapuram temple) are built on temple land despite the court’s objection, why can’t temples be built on government land?”

Stalin against Sanatan Dharma

As reported extensively by TFI, DMK has been infamous for its anti-Hindu and anti-Brahmin bigotry in the garb of Dravidian ideology. This anti-Hindu stance is amply clear from the statements of late DMK President M. Karunanidhi who said, “Lord Rama is a drunkard“. The late president has also remarked that the term ‘Hindu’ means ‘thief’. He stated, “Who is a Hindu? You must ask Periyar EVR. A good man would say the word Hindu means a thief.”

Continuing his legacy, the present party president and current CM MK Stalin has further strengthened the party’s anti-Hindu stance. In a public gathering in 2019, he had openly stated to uproot Sanatana Dharma.

Under the garb of clearance drive, the Coimbatore Corporation had earlier demolished seven temples built along the eastern bund of Muthannankulam tank at Kumarasamy Nagar at 6 AM.

It is pertinent to note that temples are being demolished early in the morning to keep the media noise to a minimum. Illegal Christian properties, barely 95 kilometres away from Chennai, lie in the hands of the Christian mafias and the government appears incessantly lenient on them.

The ancient Hindu temples in Tamil Nadu are in a state of hopelessness as the government-driven by its anti-Hindu ideology is after them. It is high time a significant step in the direction to rescue the temples should be taken.
