Ahead of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections slated to be held early next year, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given his war cry. Speaking during the last sitting of the UP Legislative Assembly, the CM remarked that the state only wants Ram Rajya, not communism or socialism.
CM Yogi said, “We have already said that this country neither needs communism or socialism. This country only wants Ram Rajya and Uttar Pradesh only wants Ram Rajya. Ram Rajya means the one which is everlasting, universal and eternal, not affected by circumstances,”
Socialism is a superstition having many forms: Yogi Adityanath
Further terming socialism as the “biggest superstition”, CM Yogi simultaneously took down the opposition which includes a certain ‘Samajwadi Party’.
He said, “It(socialism) has many imposter brands like family socialism, mafia socialism, anarchist socialism, riot socialism and terrorist socialism,”
Continuing his attack on the SP, he said, “When they celebrated Saifai Mahotsav a special buggy (wagon) was called from England.” Yogi also questioned the SP leadership for banning Krishna Janmashtami celebrations in jails. He asked, “If Janmashtami can’t be celebrated in jails then where?”
The monk leader targeted the SP government for changing the names of institutions that had been set up in the name of Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar and Kanshi Ram.
Evoking Ram Manohar Lohia
Yogi Adityanath was in his element when he evoked Ram Manohar Lohia whose socialist philosophies have been used by parties like SP and BSP, throughout the years, without actually making a difference on the ground. Yogi pointed out that his government was building roads and toilets, just the way Lohia Ji wanted.
“Lohia had said that a true socialist would stay away from property. The socialist should keep away from property and progeny. Chandrashekhar ji (former prime minister) never allowed his sons to enter politics during his time. He had set some standards in politics and today Chandrashekhar ji’s son is with us,”
Yogi is going all out in the assembly elections
Earlier this year, TFI had reported that BJP’s Chanakya Amit Shah engineered the formula to throw all the heavyweights leaders into the election battlefield, including Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. It was reported that Yogi will be contesting the legislative polls from the Ayodhya seat to send a bold message to the voters.

Moreover, given the pattern of anti-incumbency voting in Purvanchal, the party has activated all the big leaders in the region. BJP ministers including Prime Minister Narendra Modi have been frequently visiting the districts of Varanasi, Mirzapur, and Gorakhpur, to keep the party’s political base strong in the region.
