There was a time when Uttar Pradesh was labelled as the most unsafe state for women. But, ever since Yogi Government took the charge, it ensured the top-notch safety of women as well as children. While, on the contrary, states like West Bengal and Kerala whose ‘CM Didi’ and ‘Anna Vijayan’ claim that women and children are safe in the states, are witnessing a massive rise in the cases of sexual assaults and molestation against the children.
Arabic teacher caught filming kids using washroom:
K Naushad, a teacher of Arabic at RC Amala Basic Upper Primary School in Dharmadom, has been put behind the bars for allegedly filming kids while they were using the washroom. Reportedly, it was found that he placed a mobile phone in the washroom of the school for filming the students.
The arrest took place after an alert student found the camera of the mobile device working and informed her parents. Concerned for the child’s safety, the parents notified the headmistress which further led the police inquiry to Naushad.
Police discovered several obscene visuals from Naushad’s mobile phone which was being used for spying. Naushad has been booked under the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and was remanded to police custody.
Child rape cases in Kerala:

It is the highest figure in terms of the average number of cases per month for the last five years from 2016 to 2020. Prior to the statistics of 2021, maximum cases were reported in 2019, when 1,313 cases of child rape were registered in the state. The number of child rape cases had witnessed a dramatic increase of 1,313 in 2019 from 958 in 2016 and had shown a minor dip to 1,143 in 2020.

The safety of women and children under the Kerala government is a myth. The state government, instead of getting involved in filthy politics of claiming false literacy rates and demeaning Hindu rituals, needs to introspect itself and work towards a better environment where children can enjoy their childhood without any fear.
