JNU students want the reconstruction of Babri Masjid. Cute

Babri Masjid, JNU,

29 years have passed since the mosque in Ayodhya was demolished by ‘kar sevaks’ who claimed that an ancient Ram temple stood at the same site. BJP along with Right-wing activists have succeeded to lay the foundation stone for the construction of the Grand Rama Temple after a 29-year long struggle. Though it became possible only after the Supreme Court ruling in favour of the Ram Janmabhoomi in 2019, JNU students who are infamous for unlawful activities are demanding the reconstruction of Babri Masjid. After hearing this claim of the JNU students, we all can say, “How cute!”

‘Reconstruction of Babri’, protests JNU

Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union (JNUSU) staged a protest on Monday inside the campus to mark the demolition of the Babri Mosque and raise the demand for its reconstruction. The students, like they always do, sat on the protest site, holding placards, shouting slogans, and later took out the march.

In a video circulating on social media, JNUSU vice president Saket Moon Moon can be heard saying, “Compensation has to be awarded. It has to be accepted that the demolition of Babri Masjid was wrong and it should be reconstructed.”

Despite the university administration’s warning that “such an unauthorised activity may disturb communal harmony and peaceful environment” of the campus, the not-so-educated students of JNU screened ‘Ram Ke Naam’ documentary.

Babri Masjid Demolition

Babri Mosque, built in 1528, during the reign of Babar, stood at the site of the Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya. The constructions led to a years-long struggle and disputes against the communities as the devotees of Lord Ram claimed that it was constructed by demolishing a temple at the birthplace of Lord Ram.

Later, it was demolished on December 6, 1992, by kar sevaks who had gathered in Ayodhya over the invitation of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to perform kar seva, or religious service.

Supreme Court’s verdict in favour of Ram Janmbhoomi

The Supreme Court, in a landmark judgment in the Ayodhya land dispute case, had ruled in favour of Ram Mandir in 2019. The five-judge Supreme Court bench led by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi read out a unanimous  judgment that there will be Ram Mandir at the disputed site and Muslims will be given an alternate five-acre land for their mosque.

Well, the years of relentless struggle to reconstruct the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi complex at Ayodhya finally brought fruits as the reconstruction officially commenced with the Bhoomi Poojan ceremony taking place on August 5, 2020. Though the liberals and intellectuals cried hoarse about the reconstruction and labelled 5th August as a ‘Black Day in the history of Indian democracy’, their failed attempts to stop the reconstruction have proved that the truth always wins. Thus, JNU students better learn their lesson instead of peddling their anti-Hindu agenda.
