Don’t come for Namaz after 11th December. Gurgaon Hindus issue ultimatum to Namazi frequenters

Gurgaon, Hindus, Muslims, Namaz

It has been months since around a hundred Muslims assemble every Friday in public places of Gurgaon to offer namaz, yet there is no stringent action taken against them. The police and district administration is on high alert, fearing any riots due to the deadlock as Gurgaon Hindus have issued an ultimatum to Muslims to strictly oppose the offering of namaz from December 10 onwards.

Hindus opposing Muslims’ obstinacy to offer namaz at public places

On December 9, Muslim groups in Gurgaon had expressed their stubbornness to reiterate that they will continue to offer namaz on Friday at public places. Clearly, the Muslims hardly care about the inconveniences faced by people residing around the sites of namaz. In retaliation to the Muslims group’s statement to offer namaz despite all the trouble faced by locals, the Hindu outfits warned them and stated that they will strictly protest against the offering of namaz at the objected public places.

Hindu Sangharsh Samiti president Mahavir Bharadwaj stated that the organisation will not permit Muslims to offer namaz in any of the protested sites from December 10 onwards, which they have been attempting to occupy since last months.

Following the warning issued to Muslims, members of right-wing outfits started reaching the objected namaz sites in Sector 37, Atlas Chowk, Sector 44, Sirhaul Park, Sector 22, and Genpact Park on Friday morning. After reaching there, they began chanting religious slogans, as per the police.  Muslims claimed that they could not perform namaz at any site despite the presence of the police.

Khattar’s warning to Muslims

Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar also looked into the matter and said on Friday that offering namaz in public places cannot be tolerated. While interacting with the media, “Such programmes (namaz) should not be held in the open. This practice of offering namaz at public spaces will not be tolerated as it is leading to controversies and confrontations. We have given directions to the police and administration to resolve the issue amicably. We will not allow any confrontation, and try to resolve it.”

Gurugram and its relationship with illegal Nemesis

Recently, Gurugram has become a hotspot for namazis. They have been disturbing the daily lives of the citizens left, right, and center. Considering the safety aspect, a group of residents, with most of them belonging to the senior citizen category, protested against them for offering namaz in a public place. Later Gurgaon police asked them to shift their prayers to a site around 200 meters from the original spot.

The Gurugram Police has not been particularly supportive of Hindus. Thus, the Hindus of Gurugram have taken matters into their own hands, and some activists spread cow dung cakes on the ground at Gurugram’s Sector 12A, which prevented the Muslims from offering their Friday prayers there.

Encroaching public roads – the modus operandi

The modus operandi of encroaching a public land is simple. First, a group of Muslim men starts offering namaz on the public road. After a significant number of Muslim men routinely engage there — a structure resembling a Mazaar or a Dargah is erected.

Fast forward a few months, and it is claimed that the Dargah had been there for centuries, and hence the land is registered in the name of religious institutions. And because the governments want to keep up with the charade of appeasement, the illegal property is quickly stamped as a legal ‘religious’ property.

The Islamists need to realize that encroaching a public place and using it to build a Mazaar is not going to work anymore. The awakened Hindus will not allow minority privilege to turn into a minority tyranny, thus it is high time they stop using their rights to disturb the lives of other citizens.
