Christian woman approaches VHP to save her daughter from a Muslim abuser, gets justice

VHP, Christian, Muslims, sexual assaulter, abuser

Contrary to its media pestered image, Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) is a humanitarian organisation. Recently, the Hindu organisation helped a Christian woman in rescuing her daughter from a Muslim abuser.

Surathkal Police arrests a 49-year old sexual assaulter

Recently, Surathkal Police of Mangaluru arrested a 49-year old man for assaulting a girl equivalent to his daughter’s age. According to the reports available in the public domain, police arrested him after VHP took her cause.

Mohammed Sharief Siddique, a resident of Chokkabettu in Mangaluru had been sexually assaulting a 27-year old Christian woman for the last four years. The woman’s mother accused him of infesting her daughter with drugs. He did this to make sure that the woman remains in a sedative state, which made it easier for him to control her.

In a letter, her mother said, “Siddique used to take my daughter from her home. He along with his friends kept her with them for days.” Her mother also informed that Siddique already had three marriages in the past and her daughter is the fourth woman to be assaulted by this old man.

Police did not respond to the mother’s complaint, she wrote to VHP

When the mother got to know about her daughter’s exploitation by Mohammed, she complained to Mangaluru South and Urwa police station. However, the complaint did not bring any positive results for her. Then she wrote a letter to VHP citing the police’s inaction on her complaint.

VHP’s humanitarian aid to Christian woman

VHP was forthright in its response to the letter by a Christian woman. They raised the issue in front of both public and police officials. Surathkal police then registered a case under Sections 354 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Siddique is now facing charges of criminal intimidation and outraging a woman’s modesty.

Meanwhile, police rapidly acted on the complaint by VHP and have arrested the 49-year old accused. N Shashi Kumar, City police commissioner informed that Siddique has been sent to 14-day custody.

Vishwa Hindu Parishad has set an example of how humanitarianism actually works. The media myth of VHP being only a Hindu organisation is now publicly shattered. This also calls for a balanced coverage by our mainstream medium.
