Punjab Congress Govt is going to reward Khalistani rioters with Rs 2 lakh each

Punjab, Congress, Channi, Khalistani

Punjab, the border state of India which witnessed decades of insurgency before normalisation in the 1990s, is once again in the wrong hands. Since Captain Amarinder Singh resigned from the position of Chief Minister, anti-national elements like Navjot Singh Siddhu and Charanjit Singh Channi are dominant in the power corridors. And they are making decisions that harm the unity and integrity of the country.

Recently Punjab CM Channi announced a reward of 2 lakh rupees for all the people arrested by Delhi Police for hoisting the religious flag on Red Fort and disturbing the law and order situation on Republic Day. A few days before this year’s Republic Day, Khalistani terror group Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) announced that whoever hoists the religious flag of Sikhs on Red Fort (a symbol for defeating the central government), will be duly rewarded.

The Sikhs entered Delhi despite heavy police deployment and used weapons to clear their way. Ultimately a few protestors reached the Red Fort and hoisted the Sikhs’ religious flag in order to claim the reward. The incident was criticised by the people across the country, but now the Congress government led by Channi is rewarding the people who committed such a heinous crime.

“Reiterating My Govt’s stand to support the ongoing #FarmersProtest against three black farm laws, We have decided to give Rs 2 lakh compensation to 83 people arrested by Delhi Police for carrying out a tractor rally in the national capital on 26th January 2021,” said Channi.

At the same venue where the tricolour is unfurled on the occasion of Independence Day every year, the protesters masquerading as farmers unfurled the flag of Nishan Sahib which was a part of the nefarious plan of SFJ to bring a bad name to India and catch the eyeballs of the International media on Republic Day. And by rewarding the same people, Channi has declared that he is in cahoots with the Khalistani terrorist organisations such as SFJ.

The government led by Channi is proving to be disastrous for the internal security of the country as it is encouraging the Khalistani elements of the state. A few days ago, the Punjab government has passed a resolution against the extension of BSF jurisdiction. The state’s deputy CM Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, who also handles the home minister portfolio of the state, took over the responsibility of moving the resolution in the assembly. The resolution condemned the central government for the extension of areas to be covered by BSF for search, seizure, and arrest.

The resolution also claimed that all parties in the state unanimously condemn the extension of BSF Jurisdiction. However, facts on the ground differ, as the BJP members abstained from attending the assembly, while Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) condemned it.

Channi’s disregard for the internal security of India and of Punjab was also visible from the recent controversy over taking his son Rhythmjit Singh to a high-level security meet. DGP Iqbal Preet Singh Sahota was chairing a meeting with officials over the law-and-order situation in the border state and Channi brought his son to the meeting.

The Times of India citing retired bureaucrats and legal experts reported that the presence of a family member of the Chief Minister or any minister violates the Rules of Business of the state government.

Given the close relations of Siddhu with Imran Khan and the Christian allegiance of Channi, the government led by them cannot be trusted. The Union government must take steps to ensure that the unity and integrity of India is not endangered due to the cheap politics of the Punjab Congress.
