Priyanka Gandhi gets a strong response from a poet whose poem she used in a political rally

In order to win elections, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra seems willing to cross about every line, without caring for any moral, ethical or social standard of the society. Her recent cross-the-line stunt has backfired, as the poet whose poem she stole and uttered in a rally, has called out Priyanka.

Priyanka Gandhi tries to appease women voters in Chitrakoot:

Recently, while visiting Chitrakoot in Uttar Pradesh, Priyanka interacted with various sections of the society in order to appease them for her vote-bank politics. One of her targets, are the women of Uttar Pradesh. While interacting with the women in Chitrakoot, Priyankai was in full swing and tried every appeasement tactic which her family and party have been using since the last 100 years.

In one instance, in order to encourage women, she uttered, ”Suno Draupadi, shastra utha lo. Ab Govind na aayenge. Kab tak aas lagaogi tum, bike hue akhbaron se. Kaisi Raksha maang rahi ho, Dushasan ke darbaron se. (Listen Draupadi, take up arms because now Govind will not come. How long will you wait for justice from newspapers that are already sold? What kind of protection are you seeking from Dushasan’s court?),”.

Poor comparison between BJP and Dushasan:

The poem was an attempted comparison between the BJP government in UP, and Dushasan. Here, she is falsely implying that the Yogi Adityanath government does not care for women voters. Patronising women, she tells them that they need to pick up arms (which means voting for Congress in this case) to counter the imaginary threat hanging on their heads. Through the poem, she also indirectly implied that the media had been sold out to the BJP.

Original poet Pushyamitra Upadhyay denounces Priyanka Gandhi and her politics:

However, the pattern of the Congress party stealing others’ hard-earned stuff has again emerged onto the scene. The writer who had originally written the poem, has accused Priyanka Gandhi of plagiarism and warned her against using his poem for nefarious political agendas. He also denounced the opportunistic politics played by the Congress party on women.

In a Tweet, the poet Pushyamitra Upadhyay said, “I wrote this poem for the women of the country and not for your cheap politics. I neither support your ideology nor allow you to make political use of my literary assets. What will the country expect from those who steal poetry?”

It is pertinent to note that Pushyamitra had written this poem when he was deeply saddened by the status of women in the country during the aftermath of the Delhi gang rape in 2012. On his Twitter handle, he has pinned a photo in which he has talked to media on the topic of women empowerment and his poetic life and hobbies. He has categorically stated in the interview that the poem used by Priyanka Gandhi was written by him after the Delhi gang rape in 2012.

Divide-and-rule politics by the Congress party, in UP:

After witnessing the development work done by the Yogi Adityanath government during the last 5 years, the Congress party has again started to use the old ploy of divide-and-rule during elections. As Khalistanis’ efforts to turn the table in Congress’s favor failed, Priyanka Gandhi started to play identity politics by dividing people of UP on the basis of their gender. She announced that the much-derided quota system will be introduced in the government if she comes to the power. She will be choosing her cabinet not based upon the competence of the ministers, but based on which gender they were born.

It is ironic that the same Congress government whose neglecting policies led to the aghast and barbaric rape like the one in December 2012, the shameless party is now using the poem which was written in light of the same incident, to run their nefarious political agendas. No one in today’s India expects any original policy from Congress. It is criminally shameful, that the grand-old-party of India has now openly resorted to steal dialogues and poems from gullible and less powerful Indians. This should stop, and the Congress party needs to go in a self-thinking mode to improve their image.
