Hindus, with a sense of finality, have decided to shed the blanket of one-sided morality imposed on them by secular fascist forces. The passive Hindu resistance has been started by the people of Gurugram who only recently decided to perform Govardhan Pooja at the Namaz site of Muslims. On October 5, Samyukt Hindu Sangharsh Samiti decided to organise holy Govardhan Pooja on sector 12A road in Gurugram. Now, another step has been taken by the Hindus of Gurugram to make it clear that public roads are not the property of one community to sit and pray at as and when they please.
The Gurugram Police has not been particularly supportive of Hindus. Now, the Hindus of Gurugram have taken matters into their own hands, and some activists spread cow dung cakes on the ground at Gurugram’s Sector 12A, which prevented the Muslims from offering their Friday prayers there. Mahaveer, a resident of Sector 12A, who was one of the protesters who prevented the conduct of Namaz on Friday said, “There is no question of us now allowing Namaz to be offered over here. We are not against a religion but we are against the inconveniences that are being caused to people at large. Not only in Sector 12-A but our objective is to stop offering public Namaz in all public spaces of Gurugram.”
Since the row in Gurugram began more than a month ago, the number of sites designated for Namaz has come down from 37 to 20 now, indicating that the efforts of Hindus are bearing fruits. The Gurugram administration is slowly waking up. According to a report by NDTV, Gurugram authorities have told the Muslims that the permission granted for Namaz will be cancelled if there are objections from locals. Last week permissions to offer Namaz at eight of those “designated” places were cancelled due to this very reason, as more and more locals in Gurugram stand up against the illegal occupation of public roads for religious purposes.

The modus operandi of encroaching a public land is simple. First, a group of Muslim men starts offering Namaz on the public road. After a significant number of Muslim men routinely engage there — a structure resembling a Mazaar or a dargah is erected. Fast forward a few months and it is claimed that the Dargah had been there for centuries and hence the land is registered in the name of religious institutions. And because the governments want to keep up with the charade of appeasement, an illegal property is quickly stamped a legal ‘religious’ property.
The Hindus of Gurugram are all too well aware of this menace. So, they are now acting with decisiveness against the weekly encroachment of public roads by Muslims. The act of placing cow dung at the Namaz site is one such act of their satyagraha.
